Thing is, Bramble played in the champions league with the toon and finished 2nd in the PL, and us and the mags thought he was ****, until he signed for us, so flip side of the coin, the relagated teams can have some bloody good players, look at West ham when they went down a few seasons ago, lampard was in that side i believe (as ws joe cole and maybe rio ferdinad but not sure about that one), and the rest is a bloody good scoring midfielder at club level (dont think he has ever set the world on fire for England though, but then not many have if truth be told)
I also have been thinking along those lines, superkev comes to mind, but a little concerned about the amount of mediocre players we are signing, got to unsettle, the already unsettled.
