Impressed at the message we are sending out. We may still not get the lad - talks is talks; he might be going to Liverpool for talks as well! Even so we are saying we think he's gonna be a good un so he should talk to us. I like it. x
This is why I like Ellis Short. He's made his billions as an investor and he clearly sees the importance of signing players based on the premise of them being worth double what we paid for them should they turn out to be quality. I think he's seen whats happened with Benty and Hendo and thought this is a great way of boosting our turnover. I don't mind the fact top clubs come in for our players as it shows we're making progress and signing the right players.
Another plus is the likes of Whickam can come to us safe in the knowledge that if we are failing, or if a so-called bigger club comes in, we wont stand in his way. x
8mil syd thought it was around the 13mil mark just going by the rags and radio mind? Anything under 10 would be a decent buy, over that for an unproven young player is a massive gamble in my opinion. Saying that I would have him here it just goes to show why most teams looked to foreign players in years gone by as the British players were a good 10 to 15% dearer now it's more like 25%. All this 25 man squad rule has done is inflate the prices yet again for British players, oh yes and improve our national team NOT!
