Mark Hughes says talks with #QPR went well and he will be back for more tomorrow but he wants R's ambitions to match his own #HUGHES #R's

Sounds like the job is his on his terms only. No give and take. He'll be out of the door as soon as he doesn't get his own way on anything.

Tell him to go forth and multiply.

He's banking on us being desperate, Kia Joorabchian is his agent so they'll be trying to squeeze Tony's nuts...

We're far too small for the great man, let's get Malky in.

Kia Joowhatisname is also a 'business associate' of TF. Plus Hughes can't afford to walk out on two clubs in a row - unemployable. If he wants to win things he has every right to see if TF is really up for it....

well said. what's wrong with him being ambitious? TF is probably equally as ambitious anyway so i don't see the problem?

Geez it does sound like he has a fair few demands. Managers should never hold the upper hand in negotiations. Should we be concerned? We're an ambitious club, but not that ambitious.

Playing devils advocate could it already be a done deal but its being put on hold out of respect for Neil. Well I say respect, more like to ensure there is no negative vibes from the fans towards the club for tapping up MH whilst NW was still in charge??

I suspect that could be the case and I hope it is, as it would also mean that Sparky may have lined up some players too.

QPR will hold further talks with Mark Hughes tomorrow in a bid to persuade the Welshman to become their new manager.
Rangers held initial discussions with the former Blackburn, Fulham and Manchester City boss and his representative, Kia Joorabchian, this afternoon after sacking Neil Warnock yesterday.

However, the 48-year-old insists nothing has been agreed, and will return to Loftus Road in the morning to have more discussions.
He said: “Talks are progressing. We're still discussing the ideas that the club has, and I've got to think carefully what's been said today and we'll come back in the morning.
“There's a will, maybe, to get to where we both feel comfortable at what's ahead. It's about discussing things and the desire of where they want to get to as a football club.”

Hughes walked out on Fulham last year, citing a lack of ambition for his decision to quit Craven Cottage.
And he insists he needs to be convinced Rangers are a club that are going places under Tony Fernandes.
Hughes added: “That's one of the factors that concerns me. I'm an ambitious manager and hopefully the next job I have the club can match those ambitions that I have for myself.
“I've got to be clear in my mind that this is the right decision for me, and obviously Queens Park Rangers have to be comfortable in their own mind as well.”

Can't say it's unfair what he says. If we don't match his demands or vice versa then we need to look elsewhere, simples.

This could backfire horribly for TF. If Hughes says TF doesn't have enough ambition for him it would be an awfully big embarrassment for the club...

There has been no news any where regarding all our transfer targets since Sunday Morning I wonder if this is a sign, that things may have been done without Colin's input, or maybe I am hoping that is the case.

Good point, let's hope it doesn't happen. But if it does at least we would know what type of club we are supporting with TF in charge.
I think Hughes is playing a very clever game. This is a big risk for him - it's a long haul (several seasons) job to achieve these 'ambitions', and he could fall at the first hurdle if we are relegated, reputation in tatters.
I'm really beginning to warm to him, dour Welshman that he is.

That is an interesting thought, but I don't think the TF will be found lacking. It may be a case of whether their perceived time lines coincide.

I think the deal has been done and they are just wasting a bit of time out of respect for Warnock!

The good thing for us though, is that Hughes would only come if TF/Amit were telling him that they would be releasing a good amount of money for transfers!!!
