    We are being linked to several defenders which is great to see. Think we need at least 1 CB and IFB who can play either side (i know thats a lot to ask). NW will prob chase several targets to ensure we get a few in at least. Like the names we are being linked to, Samba, Bassong, Alex, Onoucha etc etc. All good players and much much better than what we have.

    Can't find where it mentions us on the SSN link, just that it would take something special to keep him in europe = Lots of spondoolies! Would love to see him come but fear he may be out of our league. Bassong and Ridgewell would make it a very happy new year.

    Alex would be good for us and score the odd goal with a free kick but feel it maybe another non starter. I noticed Arsenals 'Flipong' is now being linked to Wolves WBA. These papers just need to fill in space.

    I really believe we will see 1-2 players from abroad.

    He's out of our league completely - he'll want European football, or the at least the prospect of it: think we need to be a bit more realistic in our expectations.

    At the start of the season wern't the likes of Barton, SWP, Young, Ferdinand, etc. out of our league? He's not getting European football at the mo is he? I think this may be realistic!

    Alex is a quality CB, I still can't believe we are letting him go, he'll do well at any club but is probably much better suited to continental football <ok>

    French teams can qualify for European competitions - but what chance of winning anything or even getting to semi level?

    Imo, better to get regular prem football than dip with a French side.

    Even at management level Anchovi is only there 'cos he couldn't cope here...

    My word Brix, that's a tad harsh in my opinion. I thought Anchovi was doing exceptionally well winning the double until they undermined him by sacking that smashing chap Wilkins, his very able assistant...
