Yesterday Town all but secured our safety.. today Norwich are not in control of their own destiny. Results for Sunderland and Wigan today could leave Norwich as little as two points above the drop zone... I don't expect Norwich to find themselves in the Championship next season but 3 points each for the Black Cats and Latics today will heap pressure on the budgies who would have to hold out for another six fixtures and likely finish a point ahead of third bottom given their ropey goal difference. I detest the fascist Di Canio but on balance even I will be rooting for a debut win for him at Stamford Bridge! Newcastle also play today, so by 6pm the budgies could be hovering precariously above the trapdoor...
TBF if Andros Townsend had been on the losing side today it would have been a travesty, he was great.!
True... but... Samba, Remy, what a colossal way to blow huge amounts of cash. If they can hold onto some of them though it will hit our promotion chances hard next season.
I'm not so sure. QPR might well be in lots of trouble next season. They will either have to completely rebuild or have to try to motivate players who were signed to play in the PL, not an easy task look at Wolves, Bolton and Blackburn this season!!
A) There's no way QPR are staying up B) 70% of their current squad will leave (or go pack to parent club) That leaves the rest of the suqad they have as pi$$ poor. They really aren't a good team, and they are nearly as badly managed as Blackburn. They have thrown away nigh on £100 million. They don't deserve to stay up. From the moment they got promoted, there was no plan whatsoever. It was a case of spending obsence amounts of money on players with reputation alone. At least with the likes of our furry friends, they stabilised their team, bedded into the premiership and have spent what they can afford.
The likes of Remy and Samba will probably have relegation clauses in their contracts so that they can get out pretty easily. As stretchy says, relegation will decimate their squad and they will be left to buy more players again. Not so sure 'arry would stick around either. I could see him leaving quoting the "I've failed to keep us up and so I feel I should step down" excuse, freeing him up to take another job.
I think Harry is one of the few who would stick with it until the job's done. QPR are not dead and buried yet - now that the pressure is off there is a tiny chance they can pull off a Houdini act.
