1-0 up at half time, excellent goal from our best player, but more backwards and sidewards sluggish play with an occasional flash of attack. Still all good. Now it's 2-0 up another great goal from another player who has been ignored for weeks. Even better !
First signs that things are not secure, Luton denied goal from a very close offside.
3-0 up, an amazing goal from Palmer, skill, determination and finishing. That should do it.
Oh no, 3-1 Barkley left completely unmarked by our sleepy defence.
Luton sense that we've got the 2nd half wobbles again and launch attack after attack which one great save and a load of pathetic, ill disciplined and naive defending just manage to keep out, and we limp home with 3 desperately needed points.
Yet again so little proper Team work just individual brilliance. Little to no sign of improvement in defence, and absolutely nothing starting from the back in the way of attack.
Can someone please explain just what Broja has ever done to suggest he should be in the starting 11, or even the squad?? Boy do we need Chilwell back so Disasi can watch from the bench how a CD should play when Colwill takes his rightful place.

Can’t believe how badly we finished the game. They seemed to overload the wings and cross it in the box but we did absolutely nothing about it. I know it’s a win but I’m less and less convinced about Pochettino the more we play.

Anyway, we’ve made some awful transfers in the last couple of years but Cole Palmer is an absolute gem

That goal though, have to wonder at City selling him.

You'd be close to the trouble spots without City's benevolence. Or do they have a buy back clause?

Hope not, If we ever get going properly with our injured players back and everyone fit, Palmer will be crucial for us. Have to say it but Jackson does seem to be looking a better player than a few weeks ago, he is in desperate need of confidence, so hope he does keep going.

No buy back on Palmer. Maybe we’ve turned the tables a bit on city deeming their squad already sufficient. Let’s hope he turns into a KDB situation.

Not as far as I know.
City aren't ones to stop a player if he wants to move on though, Pep knows that the board will give him free reign to replace whoever leaves with whatever player he wants to why should he care?

Might seem like a mistake in hindsight, but no backsies :p

Just as well really, as he has been the one silver lining for us in terms of signings. The rest have been anywhere between abysmal and "meh".
Jackson, I really do think there is a player in there, he needs some time to adjust to the PL and develop a football brain, and he has the potential to be good, but right now he is far from the finished article.
Sterling is Bipolar, either he is magic and wins us the game or is total ****e, but then again the same can be said for the whole team, so not fair to single him out I guess.
Poch needs to sort this **** out, sort out his selections and instil some team ethics, as we do seem to be a team of 11 talented individuals right now.

This is spot on. Poch has had the devil of a job sorting out the team with injuries and too many very inexperienced players. He just can't settle on a "best "11 and play with consistency unless many players never get a run, which is not good for anyone.Loans and selling a few players will help, but Boehly has potentially created a Financial compliance problem by overspending, so we have to look at selling good players like Maatsen and Chalobah while keeping still unproven ones.
That said, Poch has not improved the Team performance one jot that I can see, in fact defence has become less good A couple of players Mudryk and Madueke look better players, while Colwill is being murdered at left back. Lets hope 2024 sees things improve and we start on the long road back to nearer the top.

Palmer is absolutely the shining light but I really like Gusto too and he looks like a bit of a bargain at 20 odd million. Bonus that he’s reasonable at covering on the opposite side too.

Only that well known Chelsea hater Garth Crooks felt Palmer needed criticising after his 2 goals and one assist. Laughed until I cried.

Fingers crossed Broja can finally show something for us. I never saw him on loan but believe he played well, however Iv'e not seen anything from him even before his injury , at Chelsea. Hopefully an extended run might of games might do the trick, hope so.

Well one beautiful goal from Broja. He did miss a few chances and didn't set the world alight, but he looked more interested for sure. Hope this gets him worked up and more involved, he just looks out of confidence which is understandable after such a long time injury.

The first half against Preston was some of the worst, lack-lustre football I’ve seen us play for a long time. So bad in fact that I turned it off.

How glad I was to see that we ended up winning 4-0! Signs that Poch actually does know what he’s doing and can make game winning changes.

looking forward to the next round!

Perhaps he's learnt that the application of his #9 boot right up the rear end of some players works better than being their mate?? He apparently had a word or two to the players about attitude and effort at half time. Did the job, and a couple of good subs the icing on the cake.

No didn't happen, same dogshit football at Borough. Got beat by a championship side that knew how to defend against us. I wish Sterling would just **** off somewhere. One decent moment every 5 games is not enough. Poch got it wrong starting without a target man, poor young Palmer playing up top missed some good chances but in a position he is not used to, and Collwill at full back is always wrong. We were devoid of any ideas and so vulnerable on the counter it was scary. Mudryk came on and embarrassed himself, Disasi is the disaster waiting, or more like will happen, Gallagher had a poor first half but improved after he was moved into his usual role, and over £210 million worth of central midfielders were made to look ordinary, and not for the first time. The only player without criticism was Petrovic. Oh boy, do we need our injured players fit.

I still think every time I watch us that there is no plan or patterns of play. It is literally like 11 players are picked and put into a position without any instructions. No link up play anywhere really apart from one or two moments between Palmer & Madueke.

Caicedo still looks absolutely horrific and we added a zero onto his price tag. We’d be better off without him, all he does is foul. Doesn’t score any, can’t time a tackle and can’t run.

I also think it’s time to accept the Colwill at left back experiment has failed. No doubt he’s a good player but he’s not a full back and i know injuries haven’t helped but it’s time to try someone else there.
