What was wrong with this team for today?

    Mignolet

    Ferdinand, Brown, Bramble, Bardsley

    Catts

    Larsson, Gardener, Sessegnon, Richardson

    Gyan

Westwood, Al, Vaughan, Won, Wickham, Colback, Laing

Players playing in positions they are comfortable in and can be effective in.

Instead we moved Larsson to accommodate a hapless Muhammady on the right. We moved Bardsley again from a position he won player of the season at to accommodate Richardson (who will never be a left back so long as I retain a hole up my arse). We left a goal scoring new player, brought to the club it was said to give us something different from midfield, on the bench and played 2 defensive midfielders with no goals in them together in the centre. Is there any wonder we created hardly **** all?

Newcastle were awful, one of the worst teams to come to the SOL for years and yet they beat us. I'm not sure which emotion is gripping me more tonight. Whether its the anger and frustration at seeing yet another pathetic derby display at home under Bruce the Geordie, or the worrying fact we were beaten off a team that had relegation battlers written all over them.

Bruce has lost me very quickly. I was happy to see if he could turn it round and after a summer recruitment that promised much, his hapless management and team selection (not playing players that are clearly better than what he had at his disposal today) tells me either he doesn't give a **** or he cant do the job. Either way, its time to start looking for a new man and the sooner the better while there is still a full season to do something. In 3 games time, I will comfortably predict that we will still only have 1 EPL point and be out of the first cup competition this season.

Shocking and uncomfortable as that seems to many, I am sick of this season already with Bruce in charge as its patently obvious its going to be yet another aimless treading water year under his regime and if we are lucky we won't be relegated.

Plus, I am sick to ****ing death of listening to his lame pathetic excuses week after week now after defeats. Come on Quinny and give O Neil a call to arms before this season drifts away again.

No, I wanted rid of him last year but got back on side to see if he could turn it round. His tactics and team selection today was shameful and amateurish.

He doest want to win against his home town club and it shows in the 3 derby games so far he has managed in. He is a clueless Geordie ****er and will drag this club backwards again this season if we allow it to happen.

Martin O Neill come on down. Time for a change without a shadow of a doubt now for me. No knee jerk; no derby day blues. Hes just not up to the job and I thought that since January when he sold our best striker and arrogantly declared he didn't need to replace him till the Summer.

Err, we're still waiting for that replacement AND we just witnessed another mystifying team selection at home in a derby game. Once a Geordie always a Geordie. He's shown his true colurs 3 times now FFS, how many more times do you need to see it?

well i think that is just crazy, i dont think that was are best team but to say he didnt win the game because he is from newcastle is just stupid!!

we played great last week away from home against a team that will be challenging for the top 6 places in the league, why should he make loads of changes??

the players from last week deserved there chance and they blew it if he doesnt make changes for the next game then have a go, but after one home game were we were the better team but got beat by a set piece is just daft man

  9. Neither sides striker looked like scoring, it was always going to be a piece of magic and Raylor provided.

While I commend you today Tash for winning graciously I have to question "a piece of magic?"

we were crap first half against Liverpool and lucky to get a draw and to lose today against a very very average team at home is not a good start to the season.Mr Bruce is a mid to bottom premier league manager so we shouldnt expect to much.

*defence* you thick Geordie Sh!t !!

Totally agree Cest, we had the potential to pick a team capable of stuffing them mugs but Bruce F@cked it up!
Why does he insist in picking Richardson week in and week out? Why did we play 2 holding midfielders at home?? And wh did he play 4-5-1 at home???

Thats precisely my point. Here we go AGAIN. Losing again to the mags.

How can we get a credible draw against a resurgent Liverpool at Anfield and then 7 days later look so bloody abject against Bruce's boyhood club AT HOME. We went defensive at home against a very, very ordinary barcode 11. He set us up not to win and hoped for a face saving draw. He got a defeat and that wont bother him either.

You do the maths. Its not difficult to see he doesnt want to beat them, or gives a flying **** if we lose. Wake up and smell the coffee. Bruce isn't the man. Prepare for a relegation battle. Its coming.
