I've worked it out that our squad only really has 17 players in it and that's pushing it by including Sarr, Lennon and Hackett-Fairchild who barely feature. GK - Phillips RB - Solly, Dijksteel CB - Bauer, Pearce, Lennon, Sarr, LB - Page RM - CM - Forster-Caskey, Aribo, Reeves, LM - Fosu-Henry, ST - Magennis, Ahearne-Grant, Ajose, Clarke, Hackett-Fairchild This does not include Kashi, Vetokele or Marshall as I doubt any of them will be here next season. Then we've got Magennis, Ajose and Bauer who have all been rumoured to be free to leave. Clarke been out for the entire season and 3 players who have virtually no experience playing competitively. So if we take them out we have a 10 man squad, Laughable...
Someone posted elsewhere that we need 6-8 players worth £500,000 each, and I agree. It’s become an annual joke at this stage of the summer to joke about the size of our “squad” but this year is really taking the p1ss. Many of the players you have named there have already demonstrated that they are not good enough for League 1 football - Sarr, Magennis, Lennon and Ajose being obvious examples. Rebuilding our squad is going to be a major undertaking ...even to get it back to the poor level of last season.
Calm down chaps! It's only the second week of June. We could have new owners in a few days time, who may have new plans and a new sense of momentum. Plenty of time for despairing later if it all goes t*ts up.
