Basically i have reviewed the squad sizes in our league and have uncovered the fact that with the player out on loan injured players and 4 youth team players we only have 19 fit players at the moment only 3 clubs have smaller sqads Pompey 21 Hull 25 and Burnley 27 . W hen you take into account that Hull and Pompey pay far greater wages than us I reckon BATES must be laughing little apples . Crystal P has 37 Reading 41West Ham Blackpool and Bristol have 36 only 3 other clubs have under 30 So when he comes out with we can,t afford to bring in new recruits until we sell some deadwood take it with a pinch of salt you have the facts now
I reckon his comments were more of a dig at Grayson than anything else. Bates is setting up his fall guy, because SG has signed people like Paytner, Forsell, Rachubka, Bruce etc. within the last 2 seasons who won't ever play for the club.
