Now we have signed the squad players who are the two really big signings?

I do think we have only signed players who will increase the depth of our squad even improve on the quality a little and we need that but we have not signed that really big player think Bent or Gyan. With this in mind I still think we will see two big signings before the window closes.

To be honest I'm just as excited about the signing of Wickham as i could be for any player we might sign this window,he has massive potential and it shows the intent of the club when we splash out this much on potential,on the other hand perhaps the signing of Wickham will be the stepping stone in attracting the next marquee signing as they will see were not just around to make up the numbers.

If we get Gardner, O'Shea, Gibson (not too fussed about Wes Brown) then I say go for Welbeck, a left back and a centre back. Doubt it'll work out like that though.

I agree that Wickham is a grete signing and one forthe future (the future might be August!) but I still think we will be suprised by two more signings. Thats not me saying I have inside info, I don't, after all I am not Big Chris, just in my bones I feel this is going to happen, then these boards will go int melt down.

I will be nice if we get a surprise, someone like Defoe would be fantastic. I think its more likely to be Welbeck on loan though.

We might still get for the man we don't mention anymore but I hope not.

I know what you are saying but still think it a little unfair to call them squad players and I think we are far from finished.

It might be a little unfair but true if we are looking to move on. These signings are what should be the minimum standard to get into a top 6 teams squad. Thats the basis I am working on. If we had signed any of these players two or three years ago I would have been dancing in the street. The fact that they are in my opinion squad players is no disrispect to them it is a sign of just how far we have come over that time. With this base we can really push on and look to the top 6 if we sign the two outstanding players I hope we do.

I take your point but what I am saying is that we should be looking to get into the top 6 and these are the type of players who would be squad player as those clubs. But if we are to displace one of them we need the two top quality signings on top of what we have signed to date. If we dont get them then 7th or 8th will be the limit of our progress next season. While that will be progress we need to get higher if we are to keep our better players.

It is a chicken and egg thing but we must have faith and a belive that we can do it. Other wise whats the point of all of the hard work the club are putting in?

    Welbeck & a foreigner.

Looking at players brought in I think a push for the top 6 is a possibilty. We were doing very well last year until injuries & SB's new year syndrome kicked in.
