There are some famous blsnk squad numbers at present :

    7 9 11 and 12

Surely being able to offer such 'prime' numbers should be an added bonus to attract new signings. Did I hear that Beckham was keen on a club within the M25?

Also, since U-21's don't count, I reckon we only have a 21 man squad.

    Goal - Schwarzer, Somogyi, Etheridge
Defence - Kelly, Riise, Hangeland, Baird, Senderos, Hughes, Salcido, Halliche
Midfield - Sidwell, Murphy, Gecov, Duff, Riise, Etuhu, Dempsey, Davies
    Forwards - Johnson, Zamora, Dembele

I wonder if Stockdale will be listed in the 25 man squad? If he isn't and Schwarzer gets an injury, even with the recall clause surely we wouldn't be allowed to play him.

I'm not sure that the availability of cool numbers really sways anyone into a transfer. And isn't Riise the Elder number 7?

Yes, Riise the elder is no 7

Numbers don't seem to mean what they used to - some players seem to want a particular number even if its higher than 11. eg. I noticed in the pics of Aaron Hughes scoring for NI that he wears no 18 for them too

I've definitely seen him wear 7 (even if it was only at the friendly v Stevenage) so he must have changed. Just trying to confuse us no doubt!

Yeah bear in mind in pre-season and the europa qualifiers they didn't have their names on their shirts, presumably because they were subject to change before the season kicks off properly, as could be the case with riise.
