I didn't buy a programme (assuming they sold them) on Saturday as I didn't have any change (lousy park and ride: no pies for Tommy either); have they announced next season's squad numbers yet? I'm guessing Danny Graham will take the number 9 and Brady will get the number 7 from Stewart. I checked the website but it's a real mess; they've not updated it and have just removed the players no longer with us.

The website has been a mess since they updated it. The old one was way better.

Kit numbers will likely be the same for those such as Chester and Rosey, Elmo will likely keep 27 as he had that at Sunderland as well.

Didn't buy a program either but had a quick look over someone's shoulder. There weren't any numbers just a random squad list. Sagbo had number 8 on, figueroa (spelt fantastically) was 20 so they could be quite accurate. The rest I'm useless for sorry :)

Figueroa had 20 for the first half and 3 for the second. Probably because Dawson had the no.3 shirt with the special logos on them.

I would have guessed that one. I expect Davies to be no.6 and Quinn and Meyler to be no.8 and no.4.

I could be wrong, they're the numbers they've been wearing on their training shirts. Koren still has 10, Chester has 5, Faye still has 23 so I presume they're accurate.

    From what I've seen;

    1. Jak
    2. Rosenior
    3. Figueroa
    4. Bruce
    5. Chester
    6. Davies
    7.
    8.
    9. Graham
    10. Koren
    11.
    12. Fryatt
    13. McGregor
    14.
    15. McShane
    16. Harper
    17. Boyd
    18. Proschwitz
    19. Dudgeon
    20.
    21.
    22.
    23.
    24. Aluko
    25.
    26.
    27. Elmo

I reckon Brady will take 11 and Meyler will take 8 like you say

Fair enough. I think Quinn and Brady will have 7 or 11, don't know which though.

Sagbo will probably have 14 or 20.

Jak having no.1 seems stupid though...

If he hasn't already, then I think Aluko will take 11. Meyler will probably grab 8, Brady will take 7.

A lot of keepers wear the number 16, mostly on the continent though.

Weird that we've given McGregor the #13, bit odd and might make some fans a tad nervous.

If we sign a Brazilian or an Italian, we should give them a continental number, like 87 or 93. I was #87 for my school team. It pissed off my teachers, but it made me feel like more of a flair player. Even though I was in goal. I felt it gave me the right to come up for corners and to wear a hair band.

Would doubt if Graham is 9 with him just being a loanee.

It won't make anyone nervous, or it shouldn't anyways - he is our first choice keeper, despite the number. A lot of Prem keepers who wear the no.1 shirt aren't first choice.

True, but he'll get more game time than Proschwitz, who I'm guessing would be the natural selection for Bruce. They can always change it if his loan ends or we sign somebody else.

I know, but you know what some superstitious fans are like.

I was thinking about it the other day; McGregor was probably one of the best goalkeepers outside the PL before his move to Turkey. I actually think he's our best signing so far.

Figueroa is our best signing so far imo.

That would change if we somehow managed to get Huddlestone however...

Figueroa is a great capture, but given how we've been deprived of a solid #1 since Myhill left, I feel wholeheartedly more confident going into this season. The LB position is covered by Dudgeon, who started last season extremely well. The signings we've made are all pretty good. If we got Huddlestone, then our chances of staying up would increase massively.
