do wood, nugent and knockaert want to be such high numbers when the likes of vardy is 9? Shows Drinkwater isnt available really
Well if Drinky is keeping the number 4 then to me that suggests that he is part of NP's plans, Danns losing his no 8 would suggest he isn't!
Dont think numbers mean anything these days tbf. Long gone are the days when 1-11 were the starting line-up. It's all very confusing for an old twat like me.
Generally having a number between 1-11 is seen as being the main man, some players though like to have a particular number such as 39 or 35, Raul at Madrid wanted 7 for example even as a striker. Danns losing 8 to James suggests to me that James has a big part this season.
I wouldn't read anything into it. Football has changed. But James does have a big part to play. He's our best midfielder and is a future captain.
Wouldn't read anything into the squad numbers - whilst they are here they all need numbers ... and that is all. Vardy has number 9 but I'll be amazed if he starts the first game as our centre-forward.
