So you think that Wenger is doing a first-class job to be in 5th place, considering that so many of the players are not good enough?

Walcott has no business at the club. No way. Mertersaker is old with potential. And Ramsey in the average because he has had 2 or 3 bad games? How ridiculous, he is 20. Look at him pre injury. That's his potential.

But still, maybe he is bad not to spend money, but to be above Liverpool in the league, qualify for the group stages of the CL and to beat Chelsea playing a bunch of mugs. Must be a tactical genius right?

ramsey is youth with potential. people forget he's only 20 and judge him like a player who is at his peak. that shows you his talent already.

I'd say Merts, Ramsey & Theo are good squad players who will get better over time, but they're not first choice material right now.

I think there is a point where a team gels and everyone looks and plays better. If you drop below that level of unity, then the team becomes disfunctional and nobody looks good. We have dropped below that organizational level, due mainly to injuries and new players, several times this year. Against Fulham and QPR, and the first game against United.

A lot of teams never really reach that point where they gel. Swansea and Norwich are two teams that have managed to get to that "Bonus Area" with players, whilst they do not have necessarily "great" players. What about the Greeks in that European Championship? United always seem to have it and Arsenal in the past always had it under Wenger. The extra performance gained by this unity varies from player to player, and team to team and it is not an on/off thing. Some individuals are good even when the team is not good, others are terrible when disorganized and brilliant when the team comes together. The more unified the team is the more the change in players across the pitch.

This explains why a team will crush difficult opposition one week and then lose to a lower team the next. Often the same players, but not the same unity, or harmony.

There is no doubt that Wenger places a great deal of emphasis on team play, and picks players who get most of their ability from a unified team. Some managers don't. Rating them based on performances at lower levels of cohesion, may not reflect their ability when in a team that is firing on all cylinders.

A lot of that "bonus performance" is based on trust, belief and faith, and all those words that English commentators love, but they always assign it to individuals and not to the team as a whole where I believe it is more important.

This is a rather long way of writing that I think these kind of individual ratings are very misleading, particularly in a team such as ours (and Barcelona for example), that focuses on team play and this "bonus performance".

With the champions league I will hold my hands up and admit he and the players did a great job. But with the league he is doing nothing special because liverpool have bought even more badly than we did.

Ramsey is young, Ramsey did have a serious injury but you can't escape the fact he's been poor this season!

I've been checking his recent stats and his pass completion rate is 50%-60% which for a team trying to get into the top 4 is horrific

He's also played a part in several goals against us and multiple chances for the opposition

I hope Ramsey turns into a player but based on this season no one can honestly say he's been good enough

It's partly Wengers fault to throw in a 20yrs old recovering from being out with a leg break. With Wilshere out he should be playing another senior player and rotating Ramsey
