Been a while since my last post but it was good to put a few names to faces during the season at the Crown & Sceptre.

I think it is agreed by the majority of fans For a club that has a capacity stadium of just over 18,000 its just not possible to for us to sustain the current squad size that we have. I also believe a smaller squad would be easier to manage in terms of discipline and should stop 'cliques' from forming. Further to that I still believe there is alot of quality in this squad and that apart from removing a number of high earners and troublemakers off the wage bill, I dont think a high turnover of players coming in would be healthy and this has proved to be unsettling for the club in the last few transfer windows.

This is my opinon of each section of the squad:

    Goalkeepers: (4)
    Green, Cesar, Murphy, Cerny

It's inevitable that Cesar will leave and Cerny has retired. I think we should look to bring in 1 or 2 young keepers to back up Green and Murphy.

    Defenders: (9)
Traore, Samba, Hill, Suk-Young, Onouha, Bosingwa, Ben-Haim, Young, Ferdinand

Defence is where the major overhaul is needed Bosingwa MUST leave, Traore and Young injury prone, Ferdinand is to inconsistent and Suk-Young is unproven. I would offer Ben-Haim another year for his versatility and then look to add a right back, a left back and 2 centre backs (1 young and 1 experienced).

    Midfielders: (12)
Diakite, Derry, Park, Taarabt, Wright-Phillips, Granero, Jenas, Ephraim, Hoilett, Mbia, Faurlin, Barton

We are massively overloaded in midfield I would show the door to Diakite as he has just not settled since his permanant move, Barton is a liability and Granero and Mbia have made their feelings known. I would also look at selling Park to get him off the wage bill although his game may suit the championship. Other than that I think there is more than enough quality left to match anyone else in the championship and would use the younger players as back up for any injuries.

    Forwards: (8)
Johnson, Mackie, Remy, Zamora, Bothroyd, Campbell, Cisse, Hulse

As we know Bothroyd was given the elbow today and Hulse is also on his toes. Cisse will be sold but I think DJ should be given another year as he is proven at this level. Nobody will touch Remy till after his court case and this could be a blessing in disguise until the January window. Zamora and Johnson are injury prone so I would look to add another striker as Hoilett and Taarabt can operate in second striker roles.

    Youngsters: (8)
Harryman, Ehmer, Doughty, Sutherland, Gibbons, Andrade, Balanta, Hewitt

Not sure what the future holds for these boys but I hope the club realise we need to start giving the youth a chance, I was suprised when Balanta was handed a 2 year extension last year and yet he continues to be somewhat of an enigma? Harryman did himself no harm at Anfield on the final day of the season.

    Loanees: (2)
    Fabio, Townsend

What a revelation Townsend was and I am hoping 'Arry could use his influence and get him back if he is not in Spurs plans. No one could question Fabio's commitment and work rate but he makes to many mistakes at full back and gets turned far to easily sometimes but can also play in midfield and I would not be disapointed to see him back.
