Just watching spurs..... they play nice football but at the moment they don't seem to create many clear cut chances. Second half should either prove me wrong or back it up but Spuds where the same against us. Arsenal are the same. They play lovely football but fanny about with the ball to much. Liverpool I don't think will challenge for the top 4 this season. I can see Everton doing well and may be the one to watch. This is why I think we might have a good chance this season for top 4. We don't fanny around with the ball. We get it forward fast and create clear cut chances albeit we don't maintain possession. What do you guys think!
1/2 - City/United --------------------------- 3rd - Chelsea --------------------------- 4/5/6th - Arsenal, Spurs, Newcastle --------------------------- 7th/8th/9th - Liverpool, Everton, Sunderland My prediction. Can't predict exactly.
No ady is on the bench. I hope we can get in europe again! Plus people say bale is over rated but hes not hes a very good player. Defoe looks weak in that formation mind!
My thoughts are that in a counter attacking game plan, it would work out since their wide players can abuse their pace and speed but when the defence is set out against them, it's a bit harder without a centre forward to score... As you said, probably Defoe doesn't look well as a lone striker like that.. They really are missing a Modric, and van der Vaart seems to have quietened after his bright start last season
DISALLOWED GOAL FOR SPURS The ball is in the net for Tottenham but celebrations are short-lived as Jermain Defoe's finish from close range is ruled out for offside against the forward. At the other end, Romelu Lukaku forces Brad Friedel into to superb fingertip save from an angled shot inside the box. After a relatively quiet period, the game has burst into life.
