They've got a deal to use if for CL games next season, then future games from the following season. Thoughts? I'm not sure how I feel, they seem to be moving in the right direction and without the need for a sugar daddy owner pumping millions into players for the club, so part of me thinks 'go for it'. On the other hand... It's Wembley!!! Not sure if they have an unfair advantage with additional income etc as nothing has been published to that effect but I guess we'll find out soon.
What they doing for home league games and why was it just champions league? I reckon it will just inspire teams they are playing against especially if they get into the group stage and get a tough draw.
From the FA statement it seems they are paying a fair whack for it and as such gaining no advantage, they are no West Ham. Spurs are building a superclub for me and doing it by the book, I've no issue with this at all. The only ones to suffer are maybe the Spura fan as Wembley could lose some of its magic for them, but there was talk of them playing at MK Dons or some **** and that's not right on there fans. As Drym says, CL teams are gonna relish that. I'll miss WHL, my favourite away ground, but Spurs need it for progress, same as Atletico in Spain. They will pack that new stadium, no mistake.
I think they're at WHL for this upcoming season for league games. The following season I think they're playing all home games at Wembley. I think I agree with Nads, they're a big club with ambition and they're trying to do things properly.
I've no problem with this as long as they are paying a decent amount in 'rent', unlike WHU who appear to be getting away with robbery at the Olympic stadium.
White Hart Lane was the worst place to go to in the late 1970's and early 1980's..Guaranteed loads of bother outside of the ground both before and after the games.. It is a lot better now mind..
London clubs are going to be blowing everyone else out of the water at this rate. They're going to have a ridiculous amount of clout with the way their fan bases are growing.
