http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23841998 So according to the BBC sources, there is a rival bid for Gareth Bale and they have approached us for possibly buying Juan Mata, as they think he will be behind Willian in the pecking order. Not buying either story really, if they want to give us Bale for Mata then maybe hahaha
They don't want Mata. It's all a red herring. Betting companies are definitely in cohorts with news broadcasters to manipulate betting odds and gain more viewers for broadcasters. It's win-win for both. Mata wouldn't take a step down in his career in a World Cup Year, if he were to go anywhere (which he won't) it would have to one of the Manchester clubs at least.
You knew that one would come round to bite them on the arse sometime Anyway, why would Mata want to play Thursday night football ? Sell him to Arsenal instead
Hazard and Bale...that wing combination would be giving full backs all over Europe sleepless nights! Can understand Mourinho wanting to sacrifice Mata if it meant getting Bale and Rooney.
Hazard and Bale...that wing combination would be giving full backs all over Europe sleepless nights! Bale - Willian, Moses + £35m Rooney - Mata
I'd much rather offer Mata to Dortmund or Monaco for their star striker rather than hand him to any rival, if he is surplus to requirements, that's if anyway
Obviously Chelsea won't want to sell to a rival so they might sell to your lot I don't believe Chelsea could justify selling one of the best players in the premier league if it was to happen?
I think we should seriously consider this move and play it the Levy way. He is of course valued at £120 mil but as they are our norf London neighbours they can have a discount price of £119, 995, 998.95
Mata wouldn't sign for us, unless he had some amazing close relationship with AVB to the point he wanted to play for him again. Still, can't completely understand why he's being frozen out, Mourinho (as much as I rate) seems to have history of freezing players out, he done this at Madrid with Casillas, so I wonder if there is an issue with Mata and something he has said.
I'm not convinced that Mata is being frozen out. jose has consistently said that he is not going anywhere and he likes him. All paper talk.
Why though? Having more bidders can only strengthen our negotiations with Real and you don't have a chance of getting him because Levy wouldn't sell to you and Bale doesn't want to go to you.
This ^^ Can hardly see Tottenham and Chelsea doing any transfer business in the foreseeable future, even if the player does want to leave for them.
