Good home draw, should be a good excuse to test out some youngsters.

Wasn't an insult to you guys, just that the EFL shouldn't be a priority for us in the early rounds and we have some more promising youngsters coming through this season. Need to give the new Kanes, Diers and Allis a chance to prove themselves.

Should be a good game though, looking forward to it <ok>

Probably for the best, you don't want to travel all that way only to get spanked 5-0 by our under 15s :p

I think Jamie O'hara has just signed for Gillingham.

I assume you all remember Justin Edinburgh or were you all mere babies at the time ;)

Absolutely. He's done well at Gillingham after spending a bit of time learning the trade in non-league football. Faded badly at the end of last season and had a patchy start to this but here's hoping he gets the time and backing this season. Seems to be a promising lower league manager and hope he can get some recognition like Hughton has done.

Jamie O'Hara signed for them recently, so he's bound to hit a 30-yarder past Vorm/ McGee and with Edinburgh as gaffer he'll be doing his all to get his players well up for it.

As NKNG said, not that it's being disrespectful but it'll be great to test some of the young lads looking to break through, plus September is when our CL venture begins so we've got to prioritise Prem and CL. I think Onomah will definitely start, Winks and CCV too, maybe give McGee his debut in goal if Hugo is still out, Harrison and Edwards may be on the bench and perhaps KWP and Oduwa too if they've not been loaned out already. Some of the squad players will need to prove themselves as most of the first team have started the season well and don't look like losing their places any time soon.

I'd go with an XI of something like:

    McGee
    Trippier, CCV, Wimmer, Davies
    Wanyama, Winks
    Son, Onomah, Chadli
    Kane/ Janssen

We could have Lopez and Nkoudou in by then, plus any other signing(s), while Son and/ or Chadli could've been sold, Poch may feel Dembele could do with the 90 minutes as he wouldn't have returned that long ago from his suspension, so there may be a bit of re-jigging to be done but something along those lines is what I'd like to see.

It will be a strong side that is put out (squad needs dictate that) .
So by definition the starting XI will not be disrespectful, just not the strongest.
The Spurs connections to Gillingham will make the match even more friendly.

A great tie for me personally, i have watched alot of the Gills in recent years and hope that we can get tickets to see what I think will be a good cup tie, interesting that the match appears to be on Tuesday when we are the 1600 Sunday league match

This game has now been confirmed for Wednesday 21st September at 8pm.
Stoke v Hull is the same time, while all other fixtures are 7.45pm. Don't know if that means it's televised.

I probably should've been able to work that out myself, shouldn't I?
Just to save some time, the first televised game of the FA Cup third round will be Man Utd v WeDon'tFuckingCare FC.
It really should count as financial doping.

They've had over 50 consecutive FA Cup games televised, IIRC.
I think that should cover it.
