Spurs sign no one, and I am proud of my club!

We are the first club not to sign a single player in a Summer transfer window, since the Prem began.

What a statement of intent from our board to our academy players!

What a statement from Poch, that he believes, not only in the first XI, but the youngsters that are following behind.

What is the point of having a footballing academy of excellence - and that is what Premier League academies should be - if the club is never going to put its trust in the players that it produces? It would be a betrayal of the club's youth policy.

Those young lads must look at Poch like he's a god. This fantastic manager is putting his faith in their ability, and he's telling them, "I don't need to waste millions of pounds on talent, when I have it in abundance, right here, on my own doorstep. Now, get out there lads and prove me right!"

As I say, what a statement of intent for the future of Spurs FC!

Why is it funny?

You have a squad of players who, last season, couldn't get past our young guns.

This season, you are going to have the same squad with a few additions, who will try their luck against the very same lads that you couldn't get past last season!

What makes you think that the new lads are going to be any better than the lads who failed to get past us last season?

 

I mean I think you have a strong squad. But unless the internal public message was stated at the start of the window saying “we like our team and feel we don’t need to add to compete” then I could buy it.

I don’t believe the goal from the management team was to have zero signings. In that regard, it was a failed window.

 

Just a hunch, can't stand still in this league.

Every twat pundit seems to believe that Levy stitched up Poch, by promising players and then not delivering.

However, I am prepared to bet a lot of money on it being the other way round - that Poch told Levy that he will not sign a player just for the sake of signing a player, and that he chooses, instead, to put his faith in our youth academy.

Will it pay off?

Who knows.

But imagine if it does...

Our academy will be like Southampton's on steroids.

But I strongly believe that a couple of people as astute as Levy and Poch will not have planned this.

Try and spin it all you like, there’s never been a PL club not buy a player in the summer window before for a reason, because every club and every manager wants to improve their squad.

To say Poch would be first manager to say ‘no ta, I’m sound gaffer’ is absolute cobblers mate.

Keita is a nailed on starter. Fabinho will rotate with Henderson and Milner. Allison clearly a nailed on starter.
