Welcome to the 7th year of The Spurs Prediction League. The game where you show your skill at predicting Spurs league results. Another exciting season coming up, once again a new manager with 'new' ideas will make predictions that much harder. The man to beat is Rebelspur our twice champion and current holder. New players are very welcome, the rules are set out below. GOOD LUCK! HONOURS BOARD The league is open to all Spurs Fans, just place your prediction on this thread and you are in. To win it you need to predict every week throughout the season. Missing predictions does of course make it harder but not imposssible. The Rules 1. Only your first prediction for each game will count, no revisions will be accepted for any reason. 2. Your prediction must be made before the kick-off, if you are 1 minute past the start of the game (as shown by your post time) it will not be counted. BEWARE the not606 clock is often slow and this is the clock you are timed by. 3. Whilst I will make every effort to calculate your score correctly it is your responsibility to check your score and advise me of any error. 4. The league will be split into Divisions according to the number of participants. Each league will be no more than 20 players. Promotion and Relegation will take place throughout the season according to your points total. 5. Your prediction should include the following; The score of both teams and the names of the Spurs goalscorers. 6. You can place your prediction any time following publication of the match thread but remember if you leave it late, waiting for team announcements, you risk missing the kick-off deadline. 7. The predictions are for PL games only. The Scoring System: 5 points correct result 3 points exact scoreline 2 points correct Spurs goal tally 2 points for each Spurs goalscorer named 1 point deducted for failure to predict So there you have it, the first prediction game of the season is shown below, so get your prediction in and good luck. Next Prediction Game WEST HAM v SPURS Saturday 16th August 3.00pm Note for newbies: There will be a new thread for each game as the season progresses. COYS
Hi Rob yes this was on BBC606. The 2008/09 season was was the first year of the league. It was started by somebody else (can't remember who) after a few weeks they stopped posting. I took over the league to keep it going for those of us who were taking part. The scoring system was different only points for picking the right result and the right score. The first season completed I decided to carry on but now I was running it from the start of the season I changed the rules and modified the scoring system. onlythespurs like rothspur we lost when the BBC closed its site.
Cheers for that background Spurf. Although I've only participated sporadically, I've always liked your league and respected your management of it. Your points scoring system is spot on imo, and vastly better than the frankly farcical equivalent on a certain other site I'll get my prediction in for the west ham game in the coming days
The SOS-meister is obviously in, and this year he's going for the double Gold - Prediction and Fantasy League. West Ham 0-2 Super Tottenham Hotspur Eriksen and Vertonghen.
Too chicken to go for the treble in the other Prediction league? You could always play the reserves in that one.
Do I see a challenge here SD? The SOS-meister will never back down from one, you my friend have made a big mistake. Footballing dominance will commence, I shall now compete on all fronts and become the first poster to complete the Spurs Not606 Treble. You've all been warned. (Only reason I've never done the All Team one before is because it reminds of an accumulator... And I don't think I've ever won a Premier League accumulator )
We owe them a thrashing after last year. With Pocho at the helm I can see us winning their cup final. 2-3 to the spurs army. Lamela 2, Soldado
Very strange I can see your goalscorers on the quote on this post, but not in the original post.? Does anybody else see it like that? .
