A message for Aston Villa……
(with apologies to my musical fans, of course…)

I have no song to offer for this game,
But here’s a pome what I wrote, all the same:

I left a note last night for Santa Claus.
I asked him if he’d let me know the scores.
He wrote that he would let me know the winner
If I’d agree to have no Christmas dinner!
But I’m a man who loves his annual bird,
So sadly I could never keep his word.
But Boxing Day I know we play the Villa
(A better present than (oooooh) a song from Cilla.
So I’m predicting that we’ll score a few,
And that I fear the Villains will score two.
Then Caulker, Walker and Defoe score three.
And though that outcome’s one to cheer up me,
I fear that you will think my forecast’s quirky.

Well, now I’m off to eat that lovely turkey…….
