Welcome to the 5th year of the Prediction League, with just a week to go to the start of the new season, now is the time to get your predictions in. All Spurs fans are invited to take part, simply place your prediction for the next game on this thread, and continue to post your prediction for each game through the season. I will raise a new thread for each game with the current standings. THE RULES: 1. Only your first prediction for each game will count, no revisions will be accepted. 2. Your prediction must be made before the kick-off, if you are 1 minute past the start of the game (as shown by your post time) it will not be counted. 3. Whilst I will make every effort to calculate your score correctly it is your responsibility to check your score and advise me of any error. 4. The league will be split into Divisions according to the number of participants. Each league will be no more than 20 players. Promotion and Relegation will take place throughout the season according to your points total. 5. Your prediction should include the following; The score of both teams and the names of the Spurs goalscorers. 6. You can place your prediction any time following publication of the match thread but remember if you leave it late, waiting for team announcements, you risk missing the kick-off deadline. 7. The predictions are for PL games only. The Scoring System: 5 points correct result 3 points exact scoreline 2 points correct Spurs goal tally 2 points for each Spurs goalscorer named 1 point deducted for failure to predict Next Prediction Game; NEWCASTLE v SPURS Saturday 18th August 5.30pm. Your name will only appear in the League after you have scored points, so if you fail to score and your name does not appear, don't worry, it will as soon as you register a score. Bit optimistic there YV, didn't know we could predict players who haven't signed. I'm going for 1-1 with Defoe scoring for Spurs.
Anyone thinking of making an extremely late prediction might want to remember that the forum clock is slightly fast. I'm making this post at 12.08 and the time on it will be about 5 or 6 minutes later than that. EDIT: ****ing 7! Hope that's not a hint about how accurate my predictions are going to be this season.
Yeah, probably not a particularly wise prediction but I got the 5-0 against Newcastle right so you never know

...hmmm its tricky predicting outcome of your own team! I'll have a go. On paper we should lose as newcastles firepower should be too much for our new defensive system so that means i'll go for a spurs win! Newcastle 1 (cisse) - Tottenham 2 (sig, lennon)

Newcastle 1 (Ba) - 0 Spurs BUT I think we'll dominate possession. Just too lacking in a striker to feel any other way. And Ba is in my fantasy football team... With Krul... and Coloccini... Devil - Deep blue sea.
