Problem is we all predict wins (apart from the odd coward ) so it's more about getting the score right.
I learned a long time ago never to predict Spurs scores.I've seen so many games where we have demolished the opposition only to come away with a 0-1 defeat. But saying that,I'm always expecting a very nice win against all comers..... Remember the expensive Arsenal side between the wars who went to little Walsall expecting to hammer the lower league side, but got whacked themselves 2-0. Remember(to be fair) our Spurs in the fifties going to Bournemouth expecting to wallop the seaside team....and getting walloped 3-1. Taking advantage of Ted Ditchburn's nerves, they employed a nobody footballer named Ollie Norris to chase Ted about all the match...and it worked.Even Danny couldn't get them going....and the Spurs team was a very good one too!We finished 2nd in the league that season. So,no predictions from me.........except to say I'm glad Britain didn't change to the Euro!!!!!!!!
Bloody Ade! If he'd put away the two gilt-edged chances he had, I'd have got the score right as well as the result! I hope that wasn't why he was laughing all the time! Loved your reminiscences, Smithy. Sounds as if we're of an age. (Saw your namesake and Danny and Ted play.) But it doesn't stop me having a bit of fun guessing every week. It's been a bit less unpredictable this year, by the way! And our next fixture might well be the trickiest one so far to predict............... That's why I'm not diving in with my forecast just yet! Just thinking about it..............
