Prediction League SPURS PREDICTION LEAGUE (Newcastle)

Welcome to the 11th season of THE SPURS PREDICTION LEAGUE, and a very special season it will be. Spurs will be playing in the fantastic new stadium which has emerged from the rubble of the old White Hart Lane and once again Champions League football will come to Tottenham but this is the prediction league that is all about the Premier League season and Tottenham Hotspur.

All are welcome to join in and challenge our current champion Spurlock and get their name on the increasingly famous Honours board. I ask only that you continue to predict throughout the season. Remember that even if your position looks hopeless it can be retrieved with a run of a few accurate predictions, there are always lots of points to be won.

Check out the simple rules below, I stick to them rigidly. I have no heart so it's useless to appeal to my non existent better nature.

Use your superior football knowledge to predict Spurs season and ride the luck you will need to unseat our very smug champion.

The Rules

1. Only your first prediction for each game will count, no revisions will be accepted for any reason.

2. Your prediction must be made before the kick-off, if you are 1 minute past the start of the game (as shown by your post time) it will not be counted. BEWARE the not606 clock MAYBE SLOW/FAST and this is the clock you are timed by.

3. Whilst I will make every effort to calculate your score correctly it is your responsibility to check your score and advise me of any error.

4. The league will be split into Divisions according to the number of participants. Each league will be no more than 20 players. Promotion and Relegation will take place throughout the season according to your points total.

5. Your prediction should include the following; The score of both teams and the names of the Spurs goalscorers.

6. You can place your prediction any time following publication of the match thread but remember if you leave it late, waiting for team announcements, you risk missing the kick-off deadline.

7. The predictions are for PL games only.

8. If you file a prediction with more goalscorers then predicted Spurs goals I will take the first named up to the number of goals predicted,

The Scoring System:

5 points correct result
3 points exact scoreline
2 points correct Spurs goal tally
2 points for each Spurs goalscorer named
1 point deducted for failure to predict

Best bit of advice is this...if you can find it in yourself to not be bias in any way towards Spurs...then you're in with a chance.

Took me years...even then it creeped up on me last season and will no doubt this season too

I never did check my points tally in the World Cup League

 

I took a small pleasure in pointing out that my colleague has (possibly) wasted his chance of bonus points for scorer. I fail to see how that is subverting the league. Do the Supermods have jurisdiction over this league, as I seem to be getting kicked around like a football by the establishment on this board. When the film of this board is made, my fight against injustice will be a main subplot
