Spurf - a technical question! If we predict an own goal to Spurs, do we have to name the opposition player who scores it for us? Or is it sufficient to say “own goal” in order to get the two points? Just wondering.

 

You would have to name him audrey. the rules say name the Spurs goalscorer it does not have to be a Spurs player it's the name that gets you the points.

 

That’s very clear, but a tad uncompromising! I suspect there’s a mean streak in you, Spurf, which shows itself just occasionally! Have you ever worked in customer services? Or been a JP? Ticket inspector?

 

Mean? what an insult, customer services??? You mean where nobody gets any service. No none of the above.

I never compromise on the very simple rules of the league, NEVER make an exception. That way it keeps it simple and fair and I don't waste my time discussing rules like this

You're far too old to talk about customer services audrey we can both remember when the term did not exist and you carried out your transaction with somebody who might have been miserable and unhelpful or the complete opposite. Whichever it was at least they took responsibility for the service and the owners could be held to account. The system used today completely disables the customer.

ps You forgot to mention that if you wish to complain, or even query something, you have to go online, and work your way through a tangle of pre-set options (none of which is 100% appropriate) until you arrive at a set of “frequently asked questions” (all of which are even less relevant) and that finding a phone number to ring, so that you can deal with a human being who might possibly understand the complexities and subtleties of your case, after waiting 40 minutes to get through, is worse than trying to find a lost pen-top in a rubbish bag.
