In some haste, I’ve used a folkies’ classic: Michael, Row the Boat Ashore! (which is usually, along with Cumbayah, avoided like the plague these days!) in an attempt to cheer myself up after the deflation midweek. The sound of Saint Pete Seeger helps to buck me up. Amazing man, amazing vocal range. Not an easy game to be cast in the role of pick-me-up. But beggars can’t be choosers. The season is now in the balance. Time for would-be heroes to stand up and be counted.
