In case anyone missed it, Livermore and Caulker have received their first England callups, with Defoe remaining in the squad from Euro 2012 and Walker called up after being injured for Euro 2012. I know a lot of you don't like spurs players playing for England due to injuries, public criticism and whatever else, but I like it - it allows me to watch the players from my club even more and helps promote the brand of Tottenham Hotspur IMO.
He should be in the squad normally but you can't call someone up after just a decent preseason. Livermore did well last season and Caulker looked solid for GB. Hudd has basically done nothing competitively for a year.
England are **** and we usually lose our players to injury when they go represent England so can't say i'm happy to see four of our boys in the squad for a meaningless friendly.
Do you think so ?? I think Tommy has struggled in pre-season, hardly surprising considering he's been away from the game for almost a year, but he looks nowhere near ready yet and certainly not worth an England inclusion at the moment.
I have to say I struggle with the thought of someone who's had no competitive football for over a year, offered an England call up, based on dodgy pre-season games.
Fair enough, I take your points about Huddlestone. Admittedly I've been working and haven't managed to catch all the preseason games but I thought he looked like he was slowly coming back to his best. Maybe give it a few months and see how he fares competitively.
I think players should be more concerned with their club than worrying about England.I mean, the new season's almost on us and players have to be distracted like that. Too many international games and get togethers. It used to be somethin
Sorry. My computer is being bad!Really!!!!? I was going on to say that an international cap was a coveted possesion
