i was just thinking this.
TBF, PNP called it regarding perisic being an asset to Richarlison.
Is there anyone else from the academy we can promote who offers something similar?

I think there are very few on the planet, let alone our academy, that can cross a ball and a hit a corner as good as Perisic tbh.

On the back of losing our top scorer in Kane, we were needing our whole team to up their goal/ assist output and now we’ve just lost our leading assister from last season who was already on 2 assists this one. Think it’s gonna prove a massive loss, especially as his performances in general off the bench were so impactful.

I assume he's just referring to returning to full training.

Santiago Alonso appears to have been in very decent form for the youth teams so I wonder if we’ll see him get some minutes here. We only have 3 fit senior forwards now, with Veliz not really counting and Gil working his way back.

Footballing gods couldn’t have us enjoying things for too much longer.

It’s starting to be difficult times. We saw on the weekend how we struggled to change the game and keep the tempo up because our Maddison rotation option and all our wingers were injured. Now it’s gotten worse this week. Especially with Son playing through a problem too.

Expecting Véliz and one or two of the youth wingers to be seen on match days in the coming weeks. No doubt we’ll find out soon when Gil can be properly involved too.

Jamie Donley was in the squad vs the Scouse and Santiago's probably next.
He's started the season well and seems to have a good understanding with Donley.
I've only seen highlights though, so it's hard to judge how good either of them are.

The Maddison rotation option is **** and always injured so I wouldn’t even consider him in a normal list. I’d genuinely prefer playing Hojbjerg anyway.

Son’s potential injury needing nursing will be problematic though if he has to sit out a game or two because he’s the only good and a natural finisher we have and whoever replaces him will either not be good enough or unproven.

Despite the injuries out wide, I think we still have options there so I’m not too concerned just yet. If need be Porro can be pushed further forward and I reckon even Udogie could too, albeit Emerson and Davies are so far off their level at the back that could create problems with buildup play from defence. Gil should be returning soon though and Santiago could indeed be in line to make a squad so I’m not panicking for wide roles despite the three injuries… for now!
