Spurs leading the way in Europe

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Hoddle is a god, Feb 27, 2014.

  1. With Swansea gone, and Arsenal, United, £ity, and Chavs all likely to go out next round, it's just as well that the mighty Spurs are leading the way in the final stages of the European adventure.

I'm sure that fans from across the country will want to join with us in congratulating our boys, and wishing them the best in the final 16.

Well done Tim and the boys.

Chelsea are probably still favourites to go through, providing they don't get Drogba'd, but it's not looking good for the other three.
I wonder how much damage our European coefficient has taken this season because of the other sides underperforming?

I suppose this means my goon stalker won't pay a visit after he had a near seizure, after I suggested even after our defeat last week, that we are still in the strongest position to qualify.

    Eastern European funding

...didn't we just beat Chelsea over two legs?

The current English representatives in the CL are an embarrassment to the premier league, we're widely viewed as being Europe's most exciting league yet our CL teams either park the bus or show no character.

At least when Fergie was here, he would have a go, try and win. Nowadays our teams prefer to drop all attacking sense and defend in fear because they lack the heart to play attacking football.

  9. Well, Boss, it's a bloody good thing that Spurs showed character and helped to restore a little bit of dignity to off-set the humiliation brought upon us by our fellow clubs.

We are the best London team left in Europe, and also the best English team left.

A sad day for English football, but let us, at least, push on, and try to keep the Union Jack flying. Eh.

    Irony personified.

Let me clear it up for you .

The Europa league IS a humiliation in itself .

But for Spurs its a small victory i suppose .

    you enjoy it .

    <cheers>

What was that about "better to Fail while aiming high ?"

    Champions league is HIGH

But you are celebrating in going thru to the next round of LOW

    Hypocrites much ?

This is disappointing. No WUMs as mentioned by the OP but as usual the goons show a complete disregard for rules. Although if we pretend our comments where to Wum, then this goon (armed with smileys) is the first to bite :)

    To bad to Wum!

Well done Spurs, but i think with Juve and Napoli in there you won't win it! Benfica are no walkover either.

hope you do win it though, would be funny if AVB won both CL & EL medals whislt getting sacked

You've got some front coming on here. Remember this conversation?

Are you similarly confident Arsenal will progress?

You sound bitter. Why is that? Do you have bad memories of that particular tournament or something?

That wouldn't be ex-Spurs defender Gheorghe Popescu scoring the winning penalty there, would it, Croydon?
