http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ol...ed-on-Olympic-Park-board-claims-chairman.html This could go in Stadium update, but is such a massive story in its own right, I think it deserves a thread of its own. Would any contributors please be aware that when lawyers and the police are involved, it's best to be circumspect in your discussion. I'm thinking more of the site owner's perspective than any of us as private individuals. Nevertheless the story is in the public domain, and surely needs discussing.
Levy > Ford Other than that, i'm not sure what to really make of it. Its all heresay really. Its not as if we should take anything a member of the OPLC as the truth.
This OS issue has certainlybeen a boon for the media, the amount of coverage it's generated. Shame we can't get a cut of the related advertising revenue I'm not going to comment on who's telling the truth, as clearly I have no idea. We've certainly upset a lot of politicians during this saga, how much that will hurt us is hard to say ATM.
A lot of this process does need discussing, and when senior members of the OPLC and the London Assembly seem reluctant to do so, and only want to sling mud at other parties then it does lead to the suspicion that they have something to hide. I don't condone any illegal activities by Spurs, but how was it exactly that the payment by West Ham to an OPLC director was made? It does create further suspicion that there were other links between West Ham and the OPLC that should not have occurred. Additionally the idea that such a payment was made to a Director of the OPLC but its ok because that Director had no input in the bidding process does beg the question of what she does do for her no doubt very large salary? At the very least, is the OPLC such a huge organisation that it can afford to employ Directors who have nothing to do with the bid? It would seem to me that "L" bit of the OPLC would be very much enshrined in the bid, so it would be interesting to see her job spec.
Yep, the OS saga has thrown up a lot of embarrassment for the OPLC, to some extent they're 'getting their retaliation in first'. This one's gonna run and run that's for sure, a lot, lot longer than any marathon
One day it might occur to Karren Brady that her phone might have been tapped by News of the World journalists...
BBC London News said they were arrested for fraud which, unless I've missed something, is not the same as snooping. Also, if anyone should be arrested for fraud, it;s Ford and her cronies, as well as that Coent they answer to... Baroness Ford should consider a few things, such as: * West Ham threw accusations of snooping and phone-tapping, and have not proven one iota of it * We can now sue her, and the OPLC, for defamation of character * The anonymous complaint (from Leyton Orient) is vindictive, yet the character assassination Brady and Sullivan carried out on us through the press wasn't? * How strange she declined to discuss how much taxpayers' money the stadium refurbishment will cost...
HBIC - when I started this thread I remarked people ought to be circumspect over their allegations/views. For six hours people were temperate, I strongly advise you should be careful over what you say, otherwise not only will this thread get locked, you could cause more major problems. Maybe I'm being over-sensitive, I leave that for the mods to decide
Which part of HBIC's post do you think is problematic, Ghoddle? I'd say that only his second point could be and his suggestion that they've committed fraud.
Hi PNP - as long as you're happy, I'm happy I'm just thinking of the site. This topic is going to cause real ructions in spursland - I just ask people to be aware that it might be wise to keep calm over it As you know, call me a 'spud' and I hit the roof, but this involves politics and the law. But I'm no lawyer or politician, so don't ask me what's permitted or not, but I'll be watching what I say on this topic, and as I say, not for personal worries, I couldn't careless about being sued, I'm broke anyway

Baroness Ford told the London Assembly: "My board were put under surveillance by Tottenham Hotspur and the chairman of Tottenham Hotspur felt confident enough to say that in the Sunday Times several months ago, that all 14 members of my board were put under surveillance." They are pretty strong allegations - has anyone got a link to this story in the Times 'several months ago'
The Times site is subscription only now, Piskie. Might be hard to find it. Spurs have totally denied her allegations, by the way. Does any understand how someone would get arrested for fraud in relation to this?
I just sincerely hope we're not implicated, its terrible press for things like investors and sponsors.
The fraud charge could relate to obtaining their bank statements, I believe. It's unlikely that they'd have been throwing them in the bin so it could be a case that they've impresonated them.
I don't think so, Piskie. It's more a case of making sure that the OS keeps it's athletics facilities now, I feel.
Not sure. I am, however, sure that we have not been invited to bid like we were last time Whoever came up with that idea can't have many friends left at the OPLC.
