Spurs are sending our Academy squad to Germany this weekend for the Düsseldorf U-19 Champions Trophy.

Ten teams will be split into two groups of five with the Group Stage matches played on Friday, Saturday & Sunday and the Semi-Finals and Final played on Monday.

The five teams in the other group are Japan High School XI, Fortuna Düsseldorf, Borussia Dortmund, Red Bull Salzburg and PSV Eindhoven.

Yes, it's an intensive programme but these types of matches are usually 80 minutes long (40 per half) and the squads get rotated quite a bit.

I suppose it's not much more of a strain on the players than a regular training programme.
