Keane's still got it for the Republic.
Hopefully he won't be injured for the playoff.

With the news that Helder Positga matches his goalscoring tally in qualification, Darren Bent's Twitter whinge-fest is a must-read...

The quality of the opposition would generally be lower in qualifiers than in the Premier League, Lidls.

Not Keane. He's scored a ridiculous amount of goals for us over the years.

Says something when the leading scorers for two of the group winners can't make it onto our first team. The thing is, I have no doubt Pav should go, and have no regrets about Keane going. But I keep thinking that Kranjcar should start, somehow, some way. He's too good, and he's also a quiet player who doesn't seeem to need a lot of the ball or a lot of attention to be effective, which is crucial.

Kranjcar's played in every game that he's been fit for this season, I think, RWAEB.
He was criminally underutilised last season though, so I hope Redknapp gives him more game time for the rest of the season.

It should be interesting to see how Pavlyuchenko performs against Rubin Kazan too, assuming that he starts.
It's a big chance for him to make an impression back home and get a decent move in January.

Pav being inspired for a short run of games at three-monthy intervals sounds a lot like his time at Spurs to me...

It was probably Pavs international form that persuaded Levy to sign him in the first place.....
