    FFS.

I’ve heard from a few sources that on match day they pipe crowd noise over the tannoys to boost the volume of the fans... potential proof here...

I don’t know what’s worse, this (IF true) or clubs like Leicester who hand out them ****ty plastic and paper clappers to the fans.

Remember after the defeat by Arsenal in the Cup Final, Wembley had to keep cranking up the “victory” music for Arsenal to try and drown out the Toon Army who were magnificent that day.

I probably don't have that big a problem with this to be honest. One way to combat the library experience large modern stadia often produce. Lets be honest SJP is guilty of being quiet at times. Great idea if it results in fans joining in and singing. Too often fans turn up and just sit there mouth shut. It is a much better day when everyone is excited, loud and belting out the classic toon songs.

Remember that - and also singing "Cheer up if you've won the cup" to the miserable bastards on the way back to the tube after the game

I remember being on a train back to High Wycombe where we had parked
full of Arsenal supporters as miserable as sin
there was about 6 of us Newcastle fans on a packed train singing our heads off
I even shouted at them "cheer up you miserable bastards" <laugh> nobody moved

were you on that same train ??

It’s poor form for me. They should do better.

Would have been going in the opposite direction back into London - no, I was referring to the walk back down Wembley Way to get the tube after the game.

More like they were coming from a funeral than as cup final win - first time I really realised how bad the gentrification of football had become. Genuinely felt like it was a middle class day out for them
