Gyan flattered by Tottenham interestThe Sunderland and Ghana international striker Asamoah Gyan has admitted that although he is flattered, he has heard nothing that suggests he is to join Tottenham Hotspur in a possible swap deal that would take Spurs striker Peter Crouch the other way from White Hart Lane to Sunderland’s Stadium of Light.

Gyan has told reporters: “I am not aware of any contact from Spurs, I have a contract with Sunderland. At the moment it is rumours, I was in London three weeks ago for an award in London with my good friend John Pantsil, not for a meeting with Spurs.”

But Gyan also admitted that the North London club would be an attractive offer should it materialise: “Spurs are a fantastic club and any player would be flattered by their interest, so I am, but there is nothing I can do if Sunderland want to keep me.”

Theres more to come on this one Im sure. But nowt we can do about it, bright lights big city, and more bread.

Harry Redknapp is looking more and more resigned that striker Peter Crouch could leave White Hart Lane for Sunderland given that the Wearside club now have £20 million to spend with the transfer of Jordan Henderson to Liverpool.

He has conceded that Sunderland are going to approach them over a possible bid or swap deal: “Crouchie is not one we want to sell if we can help it. Henderson has gone to Liverpool, so Sunderland have some money to spend, Perhaps Niall Quinn or Steve Bruce will be on the phone trying to buy one or two of ours.”

Would Tottenham fans be happy over this possible swap move? Only time will tell…..

Crouch had his chance with us last season and knocked us back. The lanky, cheating get can rot in Spurs reserves.

**** no, I wouldn't mind Crouch but Gyan is a much better player imo, and Crouch would probably have us back playing hoof-ball football.

Gyan is one of a bunch of foreign players who would join us to get a foot in the Prem. After that they'll look around and Spurs will be good enough.

Sounds like he would like to go.

don't want Gyan to leave at all but if he does 18m + Hutton or no deal IMO, don't want Crouch like.

would give us a canny bit of money to go and get 2 quality strikers along with N'Gog and this Dong-Won mush

not sure who there is mind but probably looking to the continent for atleast one of them if not both

Been trying not to get involved in the rumour mill threads.
But personally I would be very disappointed if we did sell Gyan especially if we were getting players in who could actually get some service into him.
Be back to normal get players in to get the ball forward and only have the likes of N'Dog to miss the chances.

I for one would be extremely disappointed if we swap Gyan for Crouch. For some reason that only he can see, Brucey has an unhealthy lusting for the lad that shows no bounds, so I would not be surprised.

been on this computer now for nearly thirteen hours, Ive scanned dozens of sites, dozens of chat rooms, read countless newspaper articles from around the world, some Ive shared on here, but the one unifying thread to all this is the utter outrage that will ensue if Gyan goes, funnily enough, not so much from the Bruce out brigade [ and you know where I stand on that one ] but more so from the undecided, and a hell of a lot from the Bruce supporters, the Bruce out brigade half expect it to happen, but youve all had a butchers, and a lot of words have been written, so we go back to the old cliche` time will tell`

but one thing is for sure, we all will be supporting our team, from the friendlies onwards, and debating our **** on here, god willing.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,done.

I wouldn't mind crouch but not at the expense of Gyan. That would be ridiculous! Does Brucie want to sell every bugger of any worth? I hope this does not materialise!
