I thought we were better than we were at Arsenal. Only negative being the "performance" of Torres. He seems really hit and miss. The Arsenal game was as good a performance I've seen from any centre forward. A tireless and selfless display with an outstanding goal to boot. Anyway enough about Torres. The team performance was excellent. We didn't show up at the beginning of the second half and it was disappointing to concede those goals having given Spurs a footballing lesson throughout most of the match at that point. I thought we were more than 2 goals better than them to be honest.

Considering how poor Spurs were in the first half I thought they made a real game of it 2nd half, can't have been easy missing 2 key players. The displays of Aaron Lennon and Defoe I thought were excellent.

Pleased by the response after going 2-1 down and the overall result. Bring on United next week, I think they are even more defensively inept than Spurs so if we can be tighter at the back it's certainly a winnable game. Have to respect that Rooney and even Moreso RVP are very good players.

MOTD tonight should be a good watch <ok>

And what about our away support!? It was phenomenal today. I was in the lower tier and we didn't stop singing throughout. Lost my voice. 'Andre what's the score' and 'You stupid bastids, you burnt your own town' were good ones

Yes. Away support top notch as well. Atmosphere was incredible 2nd half from both sides.

I hate how Torres constantly gets in 1on1 positions and NEVER shoots in time.

im over the moon about the result but cant help but feel gutted as i had too go to a family wedding saw the first half on TV in my local cracking goal from Cahill he's making a habit of poping up with key goals. overall i thought our first half display deserved more than 1-0 we were in complete control in midfield and we didnt allow Spurs an extended period of time on the ball.

The only thing Spurs could beat us on today was the speed of their exit in their fire drill! Almost as quick as Wembley!

They are masters of the fire drill after being thumped by us for 26 years

One of the better games of the season.
Can't see how anyone denegrates Spurs, I thought they played very well after a tricky 1st half which we dominated. Losing Bale pre game not the best start. Spurs will do fine ,they are quick and direct, and could have easily been 3-3 just before Mata made mincemeat of the defender for Sturridge to score. AVB is doing a good job in my opinion, with a lot less talent than we have.
For the first time this season we showed plenty of the spirit we all love. Being down with Spurs really starting to fire up, it was a great display of grit and skill to get the win, and 4-2 is just a tad flattering, though we should have been well up by half time.
Still work in progress, still better to come, still Marin and the unpronouncable defender to show their value. RDM, take another bow.

Hmm...good result - previous seasons we would've lost after losing the initiative. Excellent performances by our creative trio and Cech - only blip on the radar is Torres inconsistency (can't wait for the next window). Still believe we're a work in progress as our defensive lapses show; next game against United will be a treble chancer I fancy with both sides have excellent attacking options but are prone to going walkabout at the back.

    Fair comments CP.

Spurs first XI probably as good as anyone's but they have little in reserve. I don't think Spurs have any reason to panic. When Kaboul, Bale and Dembele all return I still think they are comfortably amongst the top 4/5 strongest teams in the league and will improve.

AVB can't play as open as they were in the 2nd half though. I disagree 4-2 flattered us, I genuinely believe we should have scored 7 or 8 yesterday all things considered. For the last 10 minutes it seemed players were determined to help Torres score. The decision making was poor at times although Mata will feel he could and should have had a Hattrick.

Spurs are a Moutinho and another top striker away from challenging the top 3/4 clubs IMO. Need another RB though, Walker looks poor ATM and I've always rated him

    1. If you thought Torres played badly you still haven't figured out the faux no.9 system or how Barca play the tikki tac, or even listened to the man himself explaining it. Here is a small clue, Messi is not a centre forward.

    2. I like AVB, a man of conviction and honesty.

    3. We need to keep in mind our youngsters out on loan when thinking about the future and the club must do all it can to keep them happy and at Chelsea.

    4. I love pies and mash and liquor (I do a mean home made one after years of practise), but not jellied eels due to having worked a shellfish stall on the Brixton road all shellfish are an anathema.

    5. Loopy Luiz still worries me.

    6. I think that guy who wrote that song for Eva Carneiro could of spent more time on the lyrics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2nDpYwCcoM

    7. Obi Wan Mikal had the Force with him.

    8. Juan Mata Picard over James Tiberius Kirk.

    9. Ermmmmmmmmmmmmm

    10. That's it.

Luiz is definitely the weak link in the team, everyone can see that. With JT in the side I'd have absolutely no doubt we'd beat United but I fear RVP's movement will cause us real problems. Positionally Luiz is clueless and doesn't work hard enough IMO. Other aspects of his game are far better and he's much quicker than Cahill and JT.

I still remain convinced he's not a defender, should be a DM
