Would have liked to see him stay a bit longer and drag them further into the mire, but for all of his failings AVB wasn't that bad a manager. I think the bigger problem for the Spuds is that along with the board, he panicked when Bale was sold and they thought they had to buy a top four spot at any cost. That resulted in them pissing an obscene amount of money up the wall on average players in a deranged trolley dash. I don't think it's so much about 'gelling' or having a manager who can pull them together, I think they have lost the likes of Bale, VDV, Modric etc and replaced them with lesser players and now having spent so much, anything less that top four is a disaster. Trouble for Spurs is that the board look like they will sack anybody who can't deliver top four and I can't see them displacing any one of Arsenal, City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Utd or Everton who are all top four candidates.
I think most of the players they have bought this season will actually be useful, they aren't bad individual players. If anything they are only 8 points off because of the pretty good quality of their individual players. But as a team they play like ****.
It's a shame agent AVB was found out by the Spuds hierarchy.Let us hope it's not too long before another agent is in place to carry on AVB's good work
Its a shame levey wouldnt give th job to that stefan freund as a caretaker, he looks a rite clown, imagine th comedy haha
if the bans backed him and were vocal about it I dont think he would have been sacked. not saying AVB def would have got top 4 this year but Spuds surely always had to write off this season before a ball was kicked. Remember, how bad were spurs when bale didn't play all season prior to leaving for Madrid. They were far worse than this lot, they've brought in lots of players easily good enough to challenge top 4 surely. I hope they get Arry back
I'm with you all the way Sisu. We need to bring ol Arry back to the Prem. He's pure magic especially for the Spuds!
I hope they don't get Arry back, I think he would do a pretty good job because for all their failing this season Sp*rs still have a pretty good squad (on paper at least!).
Which thread is the discussion of your CL draw? Surely our managerial problems aren't the only things on your minds?
Fair enough, I would say you have a chance but obviously you are not favourite. Surely this should be meat and drink to an Arsenal forum?
Well the minute we lost in Naples, I think most Arsenal fans knew it was bye bye to the Champions League for another season.......
He's the kind of manager that needs time to get his ideas across. In other words not suited to an unstable club like Chelsea or Tottenham.
