Spud's cup final of their season against us in New Year. They have nothing else to play for. Will be up to stop our 14 game winning run. Going for 1-3 (Kane Pen - Hazard, Costa & Pedro) No Cescy anywhere in that team will do us fine.
14 wins on the spin in a single season will be a Premiership record. Maybe even a top flight record dating back to 1888 when the football league was founded? Whatever, this game promises to be a blockbuster. COYB.
I had kane on my fantasy team for the first time 3 weeks ago. He didn't do anything, even missing a pen. I drop him from my squad this week & he scores 2 goals in 2 minutes. FFS. Guess what I do next week? Transfer IN & Captain him to put the curse back on
...Sir, get that curse back on Kane. I've now found the answer to my own question above. On the official CFC website...... Winning at White Hart Lane would break another record: we would become the first team to win 14 consecutive English top-flight matches in a single season. We equalled the record set by Sunderland and Preston North End (both in 1891/92) and matched by Arsenal (in 2001/02) with victory over Stoke. I have 100% faith our guys can go to 14 wins. Gomes, Capoue, Kaboul - 3 ex spuds in that Watford team. All earning their (past) corn today
Watford weaken by 9 injuries it's no surprise if they go for 6. A long John Silver eleven would get 10. On the 4th they're playing the champions it'll be the same old story, crying Spuds and joyous Chelsea fans as we establish a 13 point lead at their ****hole.
In a strange way I'm glad we let two goals in yesterday, for this reason. The training and emphasis will be on defending in the run up to the Spurs match. Don't get me wrong I know that Conte and his staff are fastidious and nigh on perfectionist when it comes to preparation, but had we have just about defeated Stoke and conceded none, then our defensive weaknesses with certain defensive midfielders may not have been highlighted. That said Matic will be alongside Kante so I expect a more solid performance at the back. Spurs at their place I think will be our biggest test yet and putting records aside I will be pleased with a draw. I would love the winning run to continue and will be praying it does, but like I said a draw will be a very good result given the bigger picture. Forza Azzuri'.
I've got every faith in the lads to win this, but it will be a tough one for both teams. I would be happy with a draw.
Watcha pop pickers, My old Aunt Flo loves a knees up especially to Chas and Dave. She's read her tea leaves and she's up the kyber . No more pickled onions for a week . Don't count your faggots till there on your plate she wispered. Happy new year ! Keep it up Sid
You've obviously been carrying on camping with the #bottler in Basingstoke. We will be carrying on cruising at 3 point lane so you Spuds will be carrying on screaming! Costa will be bunging it up of jaxy (Dembele). So don't lose your head because we will be carrying on regardless. Ooh Matron.
My concern is that Garth Crooks described us as "The Chelsea Juggernaut". Given HIAGs' previous use of that term to describe The Spuds, I hope Garth hasn't put the mockers on us !! Will be up at 2am to watch this one, with my Spud son in law blocked on my iPhone, just in case ! All previous talk about past games being "a test" is now obsolete, this is the real test and I think we will pass it with flying colours. There is a determination about this team that I haven't seen for years.
Garth Crookes is a big Cnut and biased to hell, how the fcuking bigot has made a living out of football is amazing.
I guess its hard for ex players not to be biased, but people like Alan Hansen, Souness and the other ex Liverpool mob are seriously bad. Then there's the Robbie Savages' and the load of also rans who were very ordinary on the pitch but can't shut up off it. Ex players are not the best judges of current football from where I sit, with very few exceptions. Most of them played in an era that is light years from todays game and can't do much other than reminisce about the "good old days."
I'm calling it another chelsea win here. I would be happy for the draw but i can see us winning. We've had the advantage of more rest (although vertongen and walker didn't play last game) and spurs have had to fit 3 games in 7 days which makes a big difference. Hopefully Fabregas isn't starting in the 2 (if he does play) else we could get overrun in midfield
This is a mouth watering fixture. We could all but end any realistic hopes of the title Spurs may have, but a loss and you'd have to say they would be back in it. Plus the added spice of a midweeker under the lights and the 14 game record on the line... Will be a very tight and hard game and it's basically a 50/50. I just have a sneaky feeling we will nick it though... 1-0. Luiz.
Also just looked at our next 5 league fixtures. bloody hell! Spurs, Leicester and Liverpool away, Hull and Arsenal at home.
