On the bright side, the birds were singing this morning. On the other hand, our decking has opened up gaps so we have to have it taken up and as a minimum, remounted on the bearers. The guy who's coming to do it as already postponed from March into April. I'm therefore expecting a beautiful spring when we won't be able to get into the garden or set fire to things with the BBQ due to construction work, followed by a wet summer, when we won't be able to get into the garden or set fire to things with the BBQ due to monsoon conditions.
We'll still have a hosepipe ban of course while SWW try to persuade us that in the second wettest region of the UK after Wales, they really need to build a desalination plant at Par rather than the rather more obvious solution of building a new reservoir. It's a toss up. Angering militant fish with a desalination plant or infuriating Great Crested Newts and sundry bats with a reservoir. As someone I worked with said about Great Crested Newts, "for a ****ing rare species, you can hardly avoid stepping on the little ******** anywhere we submit a planning application". I think he has some suspicion they were being bussed in.......
I would have thought Scotland was by far the wettest place in the UK....just to keep their Loch's topped up.
Good news re Mustapha Bundu https://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/sp...itness-mustapha-bundu-10052166?int_source=nba
And also, Nikola Katic played 20 minutes for Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday... He limped off supported by a couple of the coaching staff after the Sheffield Wednesday game having apparently suffered a foot injury in the first half, which was worrying.
A long interview with Andrew Parkinson. I haven't watched it (yet anyway) but among other things, he talks about the search for another investor.
Simon Hallett also speaking: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cq5z5z67n5no The most significant bits, given our perilous league position are: "Despite the increased risk of relegation, our new investors remain committed and the agreements in place will not be affected by a potential drop to League One." and "Our success off the pitch has enabled us to diversify and grow revenues to record levels," he said. "Should we be relegated, returns on our investments position us well to remain financially strong in League One with the ability to fund a highly competitive first-team squad. "A League One budget would be considerably in excess of that with which we were promoted in 2023."
Not really Argyle news but I know at least one Argyle fan who'll be interested. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c62jrzj83ejo
Argyle have 7 games left...so 21pts available....that would give Argyle 55pts maximum So possibility of staying up ? Stoke 42pts...PNE (a)..Luton (h)..Cardiff (a)..Sheff W (h)..Leeds (a)..Sunderland (h)..Derby (a)....maybe end on 49pts. Oxford 42pts...Sheff U (h)..QPR (h)..Sheff W (a)..Leeds (h)..Cardiff (a)..Sunderland (h)..Swansea (a).....maybe end on 49pts Derby 41pts...Swansea (a)..Burnley (h)..Portsmouth (a)..Luton (h)..WBA (a)..Hull (a)..Stoke (h).....maybe end on 52pts Hull 41pts...Sheff W (a)..Watford (a)..Coventry (h)..Swansea (a)..PNE (h)..Derby (h)..Portsmouth (a).....maybe end on 48pts Cardiff 40pts...QPR (a)..PNE (a)..Stoke (h)..Sheff U (a)..Oxford (h)..WBA (a)..Norwich (a).....maybe end on 47pts.....XXX Luton 38pts...Leeds (a)..Stoke (a)..Blackburn (h)..Derby (a)..Bristol C (h)..Coventry (h)..WBA (a).....maybe end on 43pts...XXX Argyle 34pts...Norwich (h)..Swansea (a)..Sheff U (h)..Middlesboro (a)..Coventry (h)..PNE (a) Leeds (h).....maybe end on 39pts...XXX XXX...Relegated.....but we know how predictions end up usually.....just a bit of depressing fun.
Rumours about Wayne Rooney getting back into management this coming summer....possibly in Division Two. The possibilities are that a chance might come at either Tranmere, Salford or MK Dons.....Salford would be interesting because it is owned by his Man U mates.....lets see what might develop.
MORE INJURY NEWS FOR ARGYLE ??? Matty Sorinola's season sounds as if it is over....he has a quadriceps injury (whatever that is} and will not be fit before the end of the season. On top of that Nikola Katic will be missing until the final two games....his hamstring problem has worsened and he cannot continue. BUT...a slight glimmer of light.....Maksym Talovierov might be fit for the final two games So with half a team the possibility is we will probably beat Sheff U....or get a real tonking....one or the other.
Just been reading on pasoti an article on Agent Fees covering the last two windows. We have forked out £1,009,797 on a agent fees during those two windows. Compare that to Leeds who forked out an astounding £18,836,447 on players to agents. There were five clubs who forked out less than Argyle. The Championship will never be an even ground.
More Rooney rumour's....talk of talks between him and Blackburn Rovers.....ok we go down and Rooney stays in the Championship that seems about right.....
Nikola Katic may be fit for the Coventry game, Maxi before the end of the season and Brendan Galloway for the start of pre-season training: https://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/sp...c-talovierov-galloway-10110309?int_source=nba
