Some of Brentford's fans might still be getting over their chaotic end to last season - but I believe Uwe Rosler's side will put a smile back on their faces this term and deliver not only promotion but the Sky Bet League 1 title. The Bees saw their automatic hopes go up in smoke when Marcello Trotta slammed a last-minute penalty to seal promotion against the bar and watched opponents Doncaster race up the other end and score a goal that sent them up and consigned Brentford to the play-offs. They shook off that heartache to reach the play-off final against Yeovil, only to come off second best at Wembley and remain in the third tier for another season. But with a new stadium in the pipeline and several significant additions to their squad, they are a club going in the right direction and look a great price to top the pile. Walsall's star striker Will Grigg is a great acquisition and Swindon captain Alan McCormack is a leader on and off the pitch - they look to have more strength in depth than they did last term. Many will put their faith in big guns Wolves but the Bees are the bet for me at 10/1. Joining them in the promotion race should be Bristol City. They were planning for relegation when they appointed Sean O'Driscoll earlier this year as few managers know this level better. He's shipped out the dead wood at Ashton Gate and the arrivals of Scott Wagstaff and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas from Charlton and Ipswich respectively add to their attacking options, while former Derby goalkeeper Frank Fielding is also an astute addition. Prize asset Albert Adomah could also start the season with them and with the goals of Sam Baldock they should be well-placed at the end of the season. They are a handy 7/2 to make an immediate return to the Championship. Staying with the Robins, I love the look of the 18/1 offered by Sky Bet on Baldock to finish as the leading marksman. The 24-year-old has had a difficult time with fitness and form since leaving MK Dons for West Ham for big money almost two years ago. But during his time at the Dons he was one of the deadliest around in League 1 to earn his move to the Hammers. The Robins then paid more than £1million for his services at the start of last season but it hasn't quite gone to plan for him so far at Ashton Gate. With Wagstaff and Emmanuel-Thomas now on board the supply line should be much-improved. If he can get back to that Dons form he will take some topping in the scoring charts.
Pure speculation. Unfortunately...! Personally I'd take promotion behind Brentford, but they wont win the league
I'm not sure if the disappointments of last season might hang over into this season for Brentford after all twice they looked like certain to get promoted in the same season and failed epically both times it could be a rocky start for them this time round but they will probably recover to finish in the playoffs if their manager can sort them out mentally. As for us IF Baldock stays fit and that is a big IF he could score hat fulls of goals if Albert stays until Jan there will be plenty of firepower for the Robins and could be even More if we can get the right striker to go with him and Pack or if Albert moves up top.
