Ticked off one of mine last night - heavyweight title fight. What are other peoples? I have done a few of mine now, but still some to go. Done = FA Cup Final (92), hammer aussies in ashes (05 trent bridge and edgbaston), olympics, cheltenham gold cup, champion hurdle, nhl game, ryder cup, tour de france, arc de triomphe. To do = world cup final, maracana (the one I want), rugby world cup final (booked in for Paris next year), dubai world cup, kentucky derby. No doubt will others will post ones that make me add them to my to do list.
I'll keep it fairly simple and say I would love to watch Sunderland in a competitive game in Europe. Imagine how many fans would go. I don't particularly like tennis but would take in a day at Wimbledon. British Lions in Australia would be amazing.
Apart from SAFC winning the cup I'd love to go to Augusta for the Masters. Edit: at Amen corner if there is a choice
Either an ashes test at Lords or maybe a test at edgbaston Six nations away games with England, only ever been to Twickenham World Cup final - could have gone to Italia 90 but mam wouldn't let me go as she didn't trust my brother Wembley final with Sunderland - only ever seen us play there in some random tournament thing years and years ago (mercantile shield and we lost) The masters at August's just to walk the course The British open golf to see the world's best up close Snooker final at the crucible All pretty basic and some quite achievable, but family and funds combine to mean they are still on my list. Have ticked off one so far this year, going to the SOL with my dad and hoping to tick the cricket at CLS with dad as well this summer
An ashes test at MCG or SCG. Us win something, ( though I'm old enough to remember '73 and was at all the games bar Wembley). See a 1500m world record broke, anywhere. Hard one to plan! Watch from the bottom at some cool European resort as those nutters do the ski jumping. Watch Durham win again at Lords. The Grand National. Might get two or three in.
Hes a knob to be fair to my mam. He was there as part of the marketing and advertising team even though he hated football. He was at the England Germany semi final and rang us before the game and offered me flights out, he would meet me, final tickets and then put me on a plane home. If they had been playing at the bottom of the garden she would have been nervous about him "looking" after me
Fair enough mate . Italia 90 was my first real World Cup as a bairn that I can remember, the little coca cola balls at School and the yo-yos etc were superb. It got me hooked. . The rest is history.......
My brother brought home a huge Italia 90 holdall with official merchandise, bags, t shirts, key rings, footballs etc. Depressing he was there as he hated football but he must have impressed someone as he ended up designing the launch of a body shop brand called "fuzzy peach" and some of the advertising / design work on the relaunch of Tin Tin. Hes still a knob though
Love to watch the Lions in New Zealand or Australia ... Always wanted to be with Barmy Army in an England Cricket test...got to do that in South Africa a couple of years ago.....Immense experience
I have 2 realistic ones and all that you’ve done as pipedreams! The 2 realistic ones are to take my Son to Wembley for a game (play off final hopefully this season although there’s an outside automatic chance still!) and to take him to a Man Utd game at old Trafford. That is for him not me but I want to do it for him as he is a Man U fan.
Ticked one of mine off just a couple of weeks ago. An NHL game. Just a regular season game so maybe one day I'll make it to a playoff game. Would love to see Boca vs River in La Bombonera and to see the Cairo Derby. Would also love to see Calcio Storico in Florence.
