Young, hungry to succeed, scored 10 goals last season so yes a quality addition to our side.

Signings like this mixed with flair signings like Sess should compliment each other and provide an well balanced team

Still waiting to hear any news or rumours about who we will sign as a left back though.

He's a good player Gardner and to get 10 goals from midfield in a team that got relegated tells us a lot about the lad. I was hoping we would sign him when he left Villa and went to Brum. Some goals from a midfield player would be something we've not had in abundance for some time.

He looks as good as any of our other targets. Beginning to see why Steeeed may be on his way out.

Its whats called the old mixed bag reaction I think.

Persanally, I can only go by his stats and he does get some goals from midfield and we aint got one of them?

He's had a cracking season, I can't really understand why the reaction would be mixed.

Because,,,,,,,WE ARE SUNDERLAND, WE ARE SUN DER LAND.

if that makes sense, throughout histoty our club has been unique, we dont agree, just to keep the peace, we are not sheep, and not easily led, and everyone has an oppinion. I would like the lad, but theres another who wont,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,simple.

Aye Bill I expect us to disagree on certain things but I'm a bit surprised that anyone would be against signing a player of that calibre.

I would be reasonably pleased with signing Gardner. Hes not brilliant but he would improve our squad and as has been mentioned he scores goals from midfield. Unsure about both him and Gibson as they both seem like the same player to me. Would personally have one of them and a bloody winger for either right or left leaving sessegnon for the other wing and a bloody striker (How many have we been linked with now).

It's been a while since we have had a midfielder who knows were the net is, so without knowing a great deal about the lad, I will say yes for that reason alone...
