Is there anything in the stadium that isn't sponsored? You can hear the frustration in the announcer's voice everytime he has to announce a subsitution (in association with JCT 600 blah blah....Hull), followed by the player, who's then sponsored by somebody else. Then the player coming off has their sponsor. The matchball is sponsored, all the players are sponsored, their shirts, the club lounges, the website, the stands are sponsored (not unusual I know), the programme is sponsored... ****, even the newsletter now has a sponsor! http://www.hullcityafc.net//news/article/newsletter-sponsor-484893.aspx?pageView=full I'm guessing this is part of the plan to make the club self sufficient, but at what point do you say, ok, it's gone far enough?
I doubt its frustration in that fat twats voice. He loves the sound of it. Best thing the Allams have done stopping him droning on.
I know, I got 250 chocolate oranges for agreeing to it. There's some superficial damage to the boxes, but I have kept them at room temperature to avoid them congealing into a small chocolate cricket ball.
My lad bought himself a flag from the club shop probably 3ft x 2 ft out of his pocket money. Took it to the 1st game of the season and hung it over the wall behind the goal in the south stand next thing the steward came and told him to take it down as its obscuring the MKM advertising board! The whole stand is covered in blue and yellow MKM signs it was a total joke.
As long as you don't have one main sponsor then one on the back, and two different ones on each collar/ shoulder like Rugby League clubs do. It looks tacky. Have noticed they keep the sponsors' ads on the big screen for ages after a substitute or a goal. So long in fact that you hardly ever see how much time is left going into the last 5 minutes, because there are so many player interchanges going on.
I am not sponsored but i have someone else's name on my seat! Now that subs are sponsored will there be reward to SB to make sure all three are made?
buy a shirt it says ' I'm skint thank heavens for pawnbrokers' I don't have a problem with advertisers but I think we should give more thought to who they are rather than selling the name to the highest bidder
Bookies aren't so bad, they're not allowed on the kids sizes, and it's only when they're abused that bookies are a bad thing. Pawn shops are by their nature targeted at people who can least afford to be ripped off, and the payday loans our sponsor also offers are marketed to do the same thing.
Ironically, given the nature of this thread, the club don't actually put the player sponsors on their profile on the OWS, but you can check in the programme(I can't actually remember who has and who hasn't got a sponsor, but I do remember that Faye didn't have one and it was only quite recently that Dudgeon got one). They're quite expensive for what you get, particularly if you don't sponsor a player who scores a lot, or gets subbed a lot, they start at £1k a player and go up quite a bit more if you go for someone like Aluko or Koren.
