....went to the kit sponsors evening last night, and I must say it was a great evening.

All the players were more than happy to hang around for photos and autographs and couldnt have been any nicer.

Even some of the players who I didnt think much of were brilliant.

I receieved Clint Hill's boots as I sponsored his boots for the season.

Also Phil Beard and Mark Hughes were there.

Whatever happens on Sunday, I am in no doubt that each and every one of those there last night have given their all, and will do so on Sunday.

Apparently last years Sponsor's night wasnt brilliant, but this years was.

Nice story Judo. Did any of them say anything about Sunday's game? And if you don't mind my asking... How much is it to sponsor an item of kit?

You sponsored the soon to be Not 606 player of the season - that is cool.

Any honourable mentions for particularly down to earth players?

Yes, i know, great choice of player!

Would say they are all down to earth but special mentions to Hill himself, Mackie, Ferdinand (During a photo i had with him traore walked past, then walked back and pulled his tie down just before the photo!), and even Bothroyd! He was really friendly.

999 - well i sponsored Hill halfway through the season, and I think prices were reduced then - was 200 plus VAT for the boots. Shirts were 350 plus VAT.

All pretty tight lipped about sunday, but they all seemed confident, and Hughes gave a speech to the fans there saying whatever happens, this club are moving in the right direction and they are all working their hardest to stay up.

Beard said the same, but obviously from the non playing side of things, said the club are well placed whatever happens. Praised the fans, and Hughes said he has never heard noise like Loftus Road!

Great. This beggars belief. They couldn't wait until next week, could they. What the hell is Clint going to do on Sunday without his flippin' boots.

    I suppose we'll have to field One-size.

    Thanks Judo. Thanks for nothing.

The decent thing would be to let him have them back, at least until Monday.

Wow! That's no mean feat when you consider the grounds he's played and managed at.

Take it easy Eamon, with all that cash he'll get boots that transmit flashing lights and bangs when he hits the net Sunday.

I'm sure that they have more than one pair, otherwise this is a very short sited PR blunder. Perhaps the kit man can get an equivalent sized pair from one of the reserve players (providing that they don't have a match on Sunday too). If not, this could prove to be a disaster before one of the biggest games of the season. Only happens at QPR, you couldn't make it up!

Heard the FA forbids boot sharing. Health & safety reasons.

This thread has descended from a very interesting read to a fecking brilliant farce.

Thank you all. And Judo, Hughes said that I'm knocking your spot.

I've got a pair of steel toe-capped rugby boots - y'know, the ones with the square toe and high cut around the ankles. Think they're Gola. Reckon with those, he'd be able to toe poke it in from 60 yards!
