Seeing as Mr Allam wants to raise more revenue by changing the club name, why doesn't he offer it up for sponsorship? Similar to buying the naming rights for a Stadium (only you don't get to choose the name) or sponsoring an individual player. You sponsor the name Hull City instead. A company could gain positive media coverage from something like this both locally and possibly nationally. A question this raises is, would he accept this or concede this isn't about the money/revenue/common name etc etc and is purely his personal mission because he doesn't like being told what to do? Unfortunately this is just a hypothetical idea as I don't have this kind of money or knowledge of how it would work from a marketing perspective but would like to see a positive end to all this for all concerned.
AA seems to be hell bent on doing anything to raise an extra million or two. A name change will raise **** all and could very likely decrease revenue, so here's a suggestion or two on how to raise the cash. Reduce the percentage on the interest on the loans from Allamhouse. Reduce it by just 1% and we'll save nearly a million a year. Reduce it by 2% and ... Cut the wages of those people at the club who don't need the money because they are far wealthier from one weeks wages than most people on here see in a year or two, ... or ten. This doesn't mean the players. Reduce the amount paid on legal fees by not pursuing pointless legal agendas. Reduce the amount spent on hiring companies to oversee pointless ballots. Increase the amount raised on retailing club merchandise by having decent quality items that customers are proud to buy. I'm sure there are plenty more but I'm going home.
You can't have a sponsor in your playing name, the FA rules on a name change were set up specifically to prevent it.
