That's my tea sorted for tonight and tomorrow.

Grilled freshly caught herring in oatmeal with new potatoes and green beans.

    Marvellous, just ****ing marvellous.

    I love fish, me.

Have I ever done a "What's your favourite fish" thread?

What a glorious nation Britain truly is.

Chicken wrapped in bacon with freshly poached asparagus and new spuds. When I say poached I mean in the traditional English country sense. I have a field of each on either side of me,

The herring was simply divine. Fish truly is the food of the Gods. Repeat performance tonight.

I had aubergine parmigiana because I am a sophisticated metropolitan elite. Followed by strawberries from the allotment. Croissants and home made strawberry jam for breakfast today. Tuna Niçoise salad tonight I think.

Tonight I’m making jerk ribs with rice and peas and a bit of salad. Probably leave out the scotch bonnets as ever since covid my stomach has been a bit sensitive and prone to dickiness.

I like hot and spicy food, can go a vindaloo or even a phaal occasionally, but Scotch bonnets instantly render any dish radioactive and deadly. I was told be a West Indian woman at work, that you should take them out at the end of cooking so you don’t actually eat them. Still lethal though.

Sounds like you need a meat injection and a liberal coating of man milk to sort out that farter of yours.

There is an awful lot to be said for belonging to a metropolitan elite. I'm an associate member despite living in the wilds of Suffolk. Yesterday I bought a couple of lobsters from the local Auchan. €25 which would buy us both cod and chips back in Blighty. Sautéed tea leafed spuds, ditto asparagus and a bottle of Chabls - thirty quid all in. What's not to like?
