As part of the commemorations of the Battle Of Britain, thirteen Spitfires will take off from Humberside Airport this afternoon and will split into groups, some going south over Lincolnshire, the others coming North over us.

They take off at 4.00pm, fly over the Humber Bridge, then north over York, up through North Yorkshire, then down through Whitby, Scarborough, Brid and then Hull, finishing about 5.00pm.

    Should be an impressive sight.

4 flew low and fast to the West of the Humber Bridge. Unfortunately, most of the crowd were situated to the City side!

No wonder we won the BoB - no-one could see the bloody Spitfires!

A bit disappointed as left work early to get home in time to watch them with the kids and didn't hear or see a thing (East Hull)

Luckily I was west of the bridge on Ferriby foreshore and they flew directly overhead. Just seen one fly overhead at home (about 1000ft up). Had it got lost?

It seems like the Humber Bridge was about the worst place to see them. I pulled into the lay by on the road from Rudstone to North Cave - perfect view and no one else!

North Cave is a ****ter to drive through down Church Street. It's like a bloody obstacle course.

Heard them first (great sound) then watched them fly over South Cave (great sight) about 3.15pm.
