Cisse should be banned for the rest of the season the dirty bastard, we know it might be in his culture but it's certainly not in ours.
Sorry to speak as a doorman, I know it really winds up some people on here. However, I've worked alongside hundreds of decent lads over the years and know I can generally speak on their behalf. Nothing is worse than having some dirty little diseased knobsack spit in your face. I've been hit, pushed, threatened, had knives waved in my face, been told 'they knew where I lived', etc etc. But the only time, in 20 years, I've ever really battered anyone was when some bastard spat in my face at Rock City, Nottingham. Incredibly, a passing Hell's Angels intervened because I went absolutely mental on him.
Can't say I agree mate. I've been nutted out cold and I've been punched straight onto my arse. Blood everywhere, the blokes just walked off or stuck the boot in on the floor. Clothes ruined, a night in A&E, permanent scars, argument with the missus, kicked out of a club, police come bla bla bla. If getting a bit of spit on you is worse than all of the above I can't begin to comprehend where you're coming from. I got spat on once and floored the bloke. I wasn't humiliated, I wasn't hurt, he was on the floor and I spat straight back on him as I stepped over him and walked off. It wasn't nearly as bad as taking a proper punch or forehead to the jaw or nose.
I'm with Smug mind, spitting is a complete lack of respect and a ****ing disgusting thing to do. I'm not saying I'd rather someone twatted me, but I'd be less infuriated to get whacked.
Well, allow me to explain It's a totally cowardly thing to do and is almost unprovable in a court of law. It takes a certain amount of courage, despite what you may think, to physically confront someone. If 'getting a bit of spit on you' is no big deal then why would you punch a man to the ground and risk a prison sentence?
I didn't say I like it and pay men to do it at weekends Smug. I would however choose being spat on to sparked out any day of the week.
So you agree that someone spitting at you justifies them being beaten up and left injured on the ground? Ignoring being 'sparked out/shot/stabbed', would you prefer someone challenging you to a fight or having them spit in your face?
Only time I've been spat at deliberately (just the once) was during the '80's punk music scene' gobbing at the band seemed to be part and parcel of playing to some numb-nuts whilst watching live punk bands, I've never understood why - was definitely the reason why I didn't play on that scene after that incident -it's just a vulgar and disgusting thing to do, I'm quite capable of keeping calm if someone threatened me with verbal abuse or even they threatened violence - if someone tries to defile me by gobbing on me it'd be the last thing they'd do - footballers that intentionally spit at each other should be banned from the game - no arguments.
Diddles, I was a bouncer during the Punk period and totally understood the reasoning behind the spitting. I worked at the Porterhouse, Retford & Rock City, Nottingham where we had all kinds of bands. The 'spit at us' comments by Rotten etc were a reaction to the aloof & distant super-groups who were kept miles from the fans. The Punk bands were 'cheek to cheek' with the fans and thought themselves no better.
Didn't know Rotten said that, he was a ****- wit though - shame he didn't instead say chuck us your 'girlfriends' or even give us 'alcohol' would have better way to play a gig
I loved some of the punk music, but could never understand the spitting at each other from sections of fans...Absolutely disgusting thing to do
He wasn't the sharpest but he knew that the like of 'Yes' & 'Led Zep' had distanced themselves to such an extent that it was an empty experience. The gigs I witnessed, in the Punk days, weren't the most technical, had no pyrotechnics and weren't in the biggest stadiums. But they were, by a million miles, the most charged and dynamic I've seen in 1000's of shows in 40 years of loving music.
Yeah of course if someone spits on you they deserve a slap. I'm not too sure why that needs addressing. I don't think too many would disagree. Challenged to a fight and being smacked are two different things. I wouldn't mind being challenged to a fight as, in my experience, anyone who challenges you to a fight or threatens to hit you before they do isn't worth worrying about. Most of the time people look comical when they do it. If someone wants to hurt you they're not likely to give you notice. I would far rather be caught surprised with spit on my face than a fist. You're in a far better state to react when you haven't been struck in the head. Everyone's different though, I'm just not a fan of physical pain and would choose most alternatives to it.
That's all fair enough mate. All I can say is that anyone who aims a punch at me will get one back. Anyone who gobs in my face will be beaten to a pulp with absolutely no mercy.
Cisse accepts spitting charge and makes apologies regarding the incident http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31759240 Evans still yet to respond to the charge
Fighting and biting are bad but never use an elbow. Headbutting is for cowards. No-one pushes the referee. And whatever you do, do not spit at an opponent. topical article by the BBC and ties in with this thread - Biting, butting, spitting... what is football's deadliest sin? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31746786
