Mrs Godders will love this http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/10184771.Schneiderlin_s_the_best_tackler_in_Europe/ Morgan has the best tackle in Europe!
Very misleading article. He's made the most tackles, that says nothing at all about the quality of them.
Yes but he has committed a fair few fouls, and picked up a number of yellows too. His tackling is far from perfect.
Quite impressive in the photo as well Schneiderlin is a superb player and will remain one of the first names on the teamsheet under any manager. I am amazed that no one has ever made an offer for him (not that NC would accept). He also showed great loyalty when he was advised for the sake of his international career to abandon us.
Well, it looks to me as though he as placed a starfish down there. Those saucy French fellows, whatever next?!
When I got a lift up to Boro last season with FLT I remember discussing how long it would be before Morgan attracted interest from bigger clubs. We were both in agreement that it wouldn't be long at all. There may well be interest in him this summer.
he's been with us for five years in the summer, if we stay up he could be with us for his whole career, thatd be great.
Do we know that no-one has? Mrs Godders aside, I'd be surprised if someone out there doesn't fancy him!
But that's all part of it, isn't it? My Dad was a great centre-half in his day (1930s). His opinion was that a defender should always hurt his opponent in the first tackle so he'd think twice about trying to go past again. Then again, in those days, his opposing forward would have been called "Stan", "Alf" or "Bert" and wouldn't have been rolling all over the park like a prima donna box of snuff (as my Dad would have put it, bless him) Vin
Not saying he would want to but, as Morgan has been here 5 years and has never been capped by France, is there a law saying he can play international football for the country that he resides in after a set number of years?
Yes, it is five years and Fran, you may be surprised by the FA. There was a lot of talk a few years back about the then Chelsea keeper, Cuducinni (?)
Yes, but I think the suggestion was shot down in flames. This is one instance where I'm glad the FA can be old fogeys. Can see no reason for it, unless the person concerned is a refugee and could never play for his home country.
Fran I am not sure that your signature is the most one appropriate for this thread. What would Markus do? He would say, 'The only way is up.'
I thought it was Almunia who was linked with playing for England, but in the end it turned out he was crap anyway. I think there is an agreement between England, Wales, Scotland and N.Ireland that they would only use players who are from their country, have family from there or were educated there. So even if Morgan wanted to for some reason, he wouldn't be able to play for England. Plus I think FIFA rules would prevent it as he has played for France's youth team. I'm sure someone on here did it in Football Manager though.
