Niall Mcginn,Leigh Griffiths,Michael Higdon & Andrew Shinnie on the short list for SPFA player of the year. First time in 23 years it will not be won by either of the old firm, surprised Wanyama not included there. Who do you think should have been included.
That's a bit of a joke in all honesty, Ledley and/or Wanyama and perhaps Kelvin Wilson should have been on the list. Michael Higdon ffs
Feel The Beel In the Celtic stay at home supporters ****in hilarious Higdon is the top scorer in the SPL Dev
I actually like that it's not got any Celtic players. In my opinion, domestically, we've been pretty solid mostly without having any real stand out performaers. Europe's a different matter but as it's the SPL, i can appreciate why there's none. To win, for me it is Griffiths
True, without him next season Hibs will struggle big time, same could be said of Aberdeen without Mcginn.
Neil Lennon critical of Celtic absence on player of year shortlist Neil Lennon has described the absence of any Celtic players on the shortlist for players' union player of the year award as "abysmal". Leigh Griffiths, Michael Higdon, Niall McGinn and Andrew Shinnie are all vying for the PFA Scotland award. The Celtic manager said it represented a smack in the face for his players. "Are people voting for the best or the most improved player? I can't see why there's no Commons, Hooper, Wanyama or Forster on that list," he said. Footballers from across Scotland's four senior leagues have cast their votes and it will be the first time in 23 years that the main award will go to a player from a club other than Celtic or Rangers. The Celtic boss said he empathised with the level of "anger and bewilderment" among the squad. "It beggars belief that we make a semi-final of the League Cup, final of the Scottish Cup, win the championship, make the last 16 of Europe, beating Barcelona, beating Spartak Moscow, putting the country on the map again, and I think the outcome of those votes belittles all the efforts of the players," said Lennon. "I think it's abysmal. Are people voting for the best player in Scotland or the most improved player in Scotland? "There's a huge difference in my eyes and that's not taking anything from the candidates that were nominated. "They have all had fine seasons, but to not have one Celtic player in that group is unbelievable." Aberdeen's Jim Bett was the last non-Old Firm player to collect the accolade in 1989-90. Celtic's Charlie Mulgrew collected the main prize last year. Griffiths is also up for young player of the year, with Celtic's Victor Wanyama and Dundee United duo Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven. Lennon added: "I have no idea what way the voting goes but you can't tell me that Fraser Forster, Wanyama, Kris Commons, Kelvin Wilson, Gary Hooper weren't in the forefronts of people's minds when the votes were made. It's ridiculous. "There is a lot of ill will in the dressing room now. The players are very, very disappointed with the outcome. They have performed heroically." The winners will be announced and presented with their awards at a dinner and ceremony in Glasgow on 5 May.
Lennon is a cock so **** the stined toothed ginger prick. It's the players that choose. So he is therefore implying that there was a vendetta from all the clubs against Celtic. Stupid, stupid fat prick. He should be hauled up before the beaks on this one. And don't bother replying Dev. You know I'm right
I'm surprised there's no United players in it, either. I presume GMS is on the YPOTY list? EDIT: Aye, he is it's mentioned in the article Dev copied.
to be honest i can't think of a celtic player who has been outstanding all season. up untll jan hooper and wanyamma were excellent, since jan they have been pretty poor. commons has had a decent season, not sure he deserved poty but should have been in the nominations
